Walking around really fancy houses is always fun, its a very basic tour that tells you the main dates of the house and what each room is for.

We watched the changing of the guards with a bagpipe player and it was very good. This is the home of the Leftenant Governor and he was home at the time of our visit. The home is beautiful and our tour was very good.

Free guided tours of Government house provided. Whilst there, there was also a changing of the guard, with a sole piper. Great to see some traditions maintained.

It was interesting to see Government House. The tour was short and free, but not terrific. I agree with the other reviewer, it is not something to go out of your way to see. I

They do great, short free tours in the afternoons. My friend and I went and learned a lot about Canada and its relationship with UK, as well as about Halifax itself. The tour is about 15-20 min, they start every half hour.

We visited in June and unfortunately were out of season for guided tours. However, the building is nice to see from the outside, too, and an important part of Nova Scotia's past and present.

Very interesting and we had the chance to go through when they had the open house weekend. The place is a lot bigger on the inside and than it looks and is full of very interesting things to see.

A very impressive building, over 200 years old. You can watch the guards change! Entrance is free and tours last about 30 minutes

This is one of the oldest buildings in town. We sneaked a peak as we wandered the city center and noted the impressive interior design. Some provincial functions occur here and you can tour.

Recently visited this Government House during a private tour. Very nice experience with lots of history here. Tour guide was very knowledgeable with the royal family details. Highly recommended!
