The is a park not far from St. Mary's University. It is quite large, numerous points of enterest and a fabulous view of the Halifax Harbour and bay area looking out to the ocean. Dogs are allowed in most areas of the park and everyone was very good about picking up after their pet so it is a clean park.... More

This beautiful park was leased to Nova Scotia by Queen Victoria for the sum of $1.00 per year if I have my facts in order. . . it is simply acres of lovely forest and shoreline trails and a small beach area with harbor views. A great place to unwind, have a picnic, get some exercise and unwind. A quiet... More

This is a wonderful natural park with many trails through the wooded areas. Then you come to the open areas overlooking the North West Arm and the Atlantic Ocean. You will always see a ship or sail boats on the water. In the summertime there are areas to have a family picnic and a beach area for swimming. With winter... More

If you are looking for a challenging 5km, this is a great place to start. The hills are killer but great if you are a beginner runner and looking to add hills into your run.

Close to downtown and a nice walk from the waterfront boardwalk, this park is incredibly beautiful. The blend of the ocean topography with the city and the bustling port on the other side, the ocean breezes are worth the trip!

Without our Public Gardens here in Halifax we couldn't brag about much except the Harbor and all the great restaurants. In the Spring Summer and Fall the Gardens are a jewel in the City. Beautifully Maintained and live entertainment on the weekends at the Bandstand is Awesome! It was also the oldest outdoor skating rink in North America! Go Figure...Skate... More

Great spot for walking in Halifax. Safe with a mix of mature and young (thanks to hurricane Juan) trees and paths that take you along both the shores of Halifax harbour and the Northwest Arm. It has various trails and also includes off leash area for dogs.

We took the bus to Yonge Street and walked to Point Pleasant at dusk. There were ducks in the water and a soft blanket of leaves on the ground. We met a few joggers and friendly dogs as we walked to the water. One of the highlights of our trip!

A beautiful quiet setting to relax from a more hectic holiday. A favourite amongst the locals - jogging, biking, walking or walking your dog.
