The museum shows the history of military aviation at Shearwater. I was surprised at the number of aircraft and the excellent aviation themed art gallery. You can easily spend a morning or afternoon there or take a quick visit. There is even a restoration area in the museum where you can see volunteers working to restore aircraft (currently a Beech... I'm a bit biased, as one of the aircraft now in the museum, I built for the museum. Christine, John, Patti, and all the other staff and volunteers are amazing, a wealth of knowledge, and 100% dedicated to preserving Canada's Military Maritime Aviation History. If you are in the area, you must come see. Tell them Dave Rowe sent you!

For a space a little on the small size there are a large number of planes here. Lot's of history under one roof.

Our tour was not rushed and all questions were answered in great detail bringing exhibits more alive. Guide welcomed any stories we could share with him about the exhibits or the times during which various exhibits were actually in use. Can highly recommend this Museum especially if one is interested in history particularly about the Second World War.

If you are interested in Aviation History then this a good place to visit. Not the easiest place to get to. The Naval Air Heritage is very well done and worth the time to see.

Excellent museum to spend a few hours learning about and seeing some exhibits about the Naval Air heritage of Canada's Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Forces. The Fairey "Swordfish" naval torpedo, Banshee Fighter are just two of the many wonderful and rare Naval aircraft on display. Also some hands - on exhibits that will thrill kids of all ages ...
