Beautiful vistas

This large lake on Cape Breton Island offers many beautiful vistas. Sail it if you can. It would be a memorable experience.

Bras d-Or Lake is big and beautiful, just like the guidebooks promise. We viewed this water body from many different places during our travels on Cape Breton Island, and it was always a treat for the eyes. Everyone has their favorite vantage point. My own is the shoreline at Alexander Graham Bell NHS, which offers photogenic views of Baddeck Bay... More

The largets inland sea in teh world, we believe . Bras D'Or lake is stunning - to be able to sail on it would be wonderful, but walking along side or driving by, you will want to stop and take in the vastness and beauty.

I was lucky to find Sailing CBI, and went out on a four hour boat trip that was perfect. Captain Paul and crew Jamie made sure we were totally comfortable on their double-hulled catamaran. With three bedrooms, two baths, a full kitchen, dining area and two decks, it was a comfortable but still exciting ride. When the big sail went... More

As you drive past the lake you get to appreciate what this place is all about. Tranquility and the beauty of nature. Its unspoiled by man for what I saw. Definitely worth the drive to see.

We didn't visit any particular spot along the lake, but traversed much of it on our bus tour. It is amazingly big and very beautiful. Many lovely, scenic drives along parts of the lake.

You will get to see the lake from various different places if you are on Cape Breton Island. We stayed right by it in Baddeck, and then passed it on several occasions whilst travelling. It is lovely to look at, or go on if you have the opportunity.

We stayed at a beautiful airbnb waterfront Tranquility cottage on Bras d'or Lake and it was amazing!. It was 3 kms from Dundee Golf course and was 30 minutes from town. If you do go to town visit Jiggs fast food...it is not like any McDonalds or crap like that. This was fast food at it's finest where they will... More

The best swimming in Nova Scotia. The Bras dor is a natural mix of fresh and salt water, naturally fed form several narrows, deep cool water offering uncountable small beaches and entry points. 930 ft deep at one point. Recently visited the Boisdale area and swam at a small accessible beach just past the village sign. very quiet area to... More
