We stopped in Annapolis Royal to check out a spot that has been a part of Nova Scotia’s history from the beginning. The land that Fort Anne National Historic Site sits on is where so much has happened since the late 1600’s. There is little...More

The staff are helpful and the grounds are well maintained. Lots of reading but a very interesting part of our Canadian heritage. Definitely worth stopping in.

A lovely day in Annapolis Royale. Great place for a picnic. It is a great place to learn history of early settlers in Acadia.

We went there as our whale watching tour was canceled due to the weather. What a lovely surprise. We really enjoyed our history lesson and all that went with it. Even in the rain, it was a beautiful walk!

The fort comprises a series of earth mounds now, which would have been much higher and steeper when in use. It is situated very close to the town and historic gardens and is well worth a visit. It is possible to visit at any time...More

The battles between the british and the french was well explained in the museum. There is a remainng building onsite from 1708. The museum did a great job in explaining through film what they went through.

If you only want to walk on the site, with a leash, I think you can. But if you want a guide you better with no dog.
