Take a look at the history of dory's, or take the whirligig class lots of fun. Or you can buy one and take it home to paint.

This is one of several buildings all of which are accessible with a single fee. This building was an original dory factory and it is still set up the way it was. The staff were very knowledgeable and took time to explain the processes and...More

This museum is small but documents an important piece of the maritime history of Nova Scotia. Good exhibits, excellent guides. We spent much longer than expected.

The museum guides were so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We especially enjoyed meeting Milford who has been building dories, boat models, and other maritime wood work since he was about ten years old. The Dory museum is one of 3 interconnected museums that all help bring...More

Very interesting shop right down by the water. All the whirly gigs were spinning like crazy. Inexpensive interesting gifts.

My husband and I just happened to stop in Shelburne on our way from Yarmouth to Lunenburg. Boy, were we glad we did! There was a fun whirligig festival in progress on the lawns of the historic waterfront, and our first stop, at the Dory...More

We bought the three pack entrance to the museums in Shelburne. The Dory Shop Museum was very interesting and a fun way to learn about the history of dory building in Shelburne and surrounding area. Very knowledgable and friendly staff.
