A great great thrill ! It was absolutely wonderful to skidoo full speed on one of Yellowknife’s frozen lakes. The scenery was stunning. Shadow, our guide, was a great skidoo teacher, and she has such a bubbly personality ! Definitely worth it !

Had a wonderful experience with Kobie and Shadow as guides. They took us to some remote places outside of Yellowknife to see the northern lights and took some amazing photos for us. The only reason I am not putting a 5 star review is because the heater in the van didn’t seem to work properly as ice was forming on the inside of the windows. I acknowledge it was an extremely cold night (-39 celsius) but I found it very hard to warm up despite having all the proper gear. Hopefully, Kobie and Shadow had some hot chocolate to offer and that helped quite a lot. Despite the minor inconvenience of the cold in the van, this was a une experience and I definitely recommend Northstar adventures !

I really enjoyed the chasing style of this tour. It was not like the other Aurora tours I booked, in that regard. The tour operator stopped frequently to check for the best possible places to see the Auroras and even though I was there during a really cloudy week, we lucked out on my second night. I couldn’t see them super bright with my own eyes (plus, I’m colourblind) but could see them much better in the photos. It was a great time and I really liked the hot chocolate and maple cookies too. I’m sure that if I was there during a clearer time, this would’ve been absolutely phenomenal but even during cloudy nights it was great.
