I booked all my activities (2 nights of aurora viewing, city tour, dogsledding) with North Star Adventures. They were quick to respond and accommodating to my requests. Everything was well organized. The guides and drivers I had (Crystal, Cobie, Shadow, Joey, Archie) answered everyone's questions, made sure everyone had an enjoyable time, and had great enthusiasm.

We are a family of 5 and had a fabulous experience with North Star Adventures. We booked the Yellowknife City Tour, Dog Sledding and Ice Fishing tours. We were collected from our hotel on time with warm welcomes from the staff, Shadow, Kobie, Randy, Joe & Archie! We enjoyed learning about the city and visiting sites. The dog sledding was an amazing experience! We all loved the tour. The family owned business was provided excellent service. We all thought the stories about the history of dog sledding in the cabin before our ride was very entertaining. The sledding was a highlight! The ice fishing tour was a wonderful experience. So quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend North Star Adventures and the team there!!!

Joe, the tour guide, is awesome! Running a family business with high quality. Time slot confirmation email will be sent before every night aurora hunt pick up and city tour pick up, everything is transparent and clear. Joe is also funny and knows the actual inside stories and history of yellowknife. Will surely go with this tour if I visit here again.

We went aurora hunting with Joe and even though Lady aurora was being shy, we had a marvellous evening of story telling, exploring and music. And finally the Lady danced. Thank you Joe for a great adventure

In addition to sharing a meal with Joe in Fort Providence and being thoroughly entertained, Joe took us for a tour in his boat on the Great Slave Lake. He pointed out the points of interest and toured us past the boat houses. Really enjoyed the tour!

We had a fun day searching for, and finding, buffalo on the road outside Yellowknife. Joe is a great tour guide and entertained us all day. Also, we visited a Dene community and a man who makes traditional drums welcomed us into his shop. He was very generous with his time and explained all about his craft.

Highly Recommend! Excellent Service!
We are so happy to book the whole adventure with them, We did the Aurora Hunting adventure for 2 nights, Aurora Teepee Camp tour 1 night, and Snowmobile Wilderness Tour. The Tour guides Shadow, Kobie, Crystal and Archie are very helpfull, well organized, happy and very energetic. We saw the beautiful Aurora as we expected. And the highlight is snowmobile. Great experience, great tour... Great North Star Adventure!!!

PS: They serve the best chocolate and maple cookies 😁😋

Joe brought us to great locations to see the night sky and the aurora! Also the cookies were delicious :) Definitely a trip to remember!

btw it can be very cold even in March (-30C) so I would recommend renting winter clothes if you don't have clothes for that weather.

We signed up for the dog-sledding and snowmobiling tours with North Star. Both tours were well organized and very enjoyable. The people conducting the tours as well as the organizers (shout out to Jane and Crystal) were very prompt in their responses and professional. The tours providers were very friendly and warm. We even got some knowledge on local culture, cups of warm cocoa and home made bannock along with the tour which was a great personal touch. They even took pictures and videos for us and provided them to us at no additional charge. This helps as you do not want to get your hands out of your gloves during these activities.

We also hired warm clothes from them which came in VERY handy as temperatures ranged from -20 to -36 degrees (December, Christmas week). Do not try to do this without a parka, snow pants and proper hats, gloves and face coverings.

I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again.

We went on the Indigenous Storytelling Tour with Joe. It was a great experience! I learned a lot about Dene culture(s) as well as Joe's life and experiences. Joe made the experience feel very intimate and personal. Cannot recommend enough.
