My Dad, mom and myself loved to go to Pippy Park! It will always be my wonderful, scenic and care free place in eastern Newfoundland.

My wife and I were in town a few days prior to starting our vacation. After dinner we, along with our son and his wife, hit the Rennes River trail that started in Pippy Park and ended for us at Quidi Vidi. We did the loop stopping to admire the scenery and wildlife. What an enjoyable jaunt!

The Park for visitors to the City offers a location to pull in 'a house on wheels' BUT there's more to this Green Space than a summer location.  The park is full of trails and one that we like to use at least in Winter is that which for us starts at the Suncor Energy Fluvarium.  This trail leads along... This park is fairly average. It's a nice place to go camping or spend an afternoon. There are lots of nice walking trails and open areas to enjoy. The location is what makes it great. It's walking distance to the Fluvarium (which is a great place to visit) and 10-15 min drive to most of St. John's.

Sites in this campground look great. But if you have a tent they will put you in a big field with no picnic tables and no fire pits. You have to park your car at the top of the field IF you are lucky enough to find a spot (spots for 6 or 7 cars but the field can hold... More

Right in the heart of the capital but seems used by the locals for a place to party. The staff was disinterested to the point of being rude. Noisy from traffic...highway, airport and loud late parties. If there was security they stopped none of it.

The camp ground area in Pippy Park is best I have ever experienced in a city, and certainly one of the best for any locale. Place for tents, and RVs and the RV sites are well spaced and surrounded by forest. Excellent shower facilities, clean , well maintained laundry, easy access to downtown St. John's with a $12 taxi ride.

Perhaps we were spoiled by all the provincial parks we visited in Newfoundland, but we found the facilities to be lacking. The comfort station closest to us was disgusting. I told the front desk and they closed it. The next closest was open but it could have used a good cleaning. And that was as I watched the cleaner walk... More

This is a great spot to camp while exploring St. John's and surrounding area. Great trails in city. Also good roads nearby get you quickly to where you want to go. Sites are big, although our first one was not level. Good water. Wifi is only in one section of the campground. Enjoyed Signal Hill, Quidi Vidi, Cape Spear and... More
