Appx. 3.8 km hike looping Quidi Vidi lake ... a great way to see the entire community, because they all seemed to be there with their dogs! Nice "elder-park" facility for exercise, ball field, children's playground, and off-shoot hiking trails. Beautiful park, great hike.

The locals come here to run & hike but we didn't realize that it would be so tough. Several sets of wooden stairs to the top ( about the equivalent to a ten storey building or more ) numerous rocky & steep paths. But in the end just do it because we saw a bald eagle nest right by the sea with mom/dad majestically guarding the kids ..a magnificent view of Signal hill across the bay.. Just breath taking .. In more ways than one

This is a great 4km walk with beautiful views, one of my favourites that's close to downtown. It's very dog friendly, as there are lots of garbage cans / posts with doggy bags attached to them.

3.7 km walk around QV Lake, to a dam and a little bridge at one end and boardwalks on the side opposite the road. Joggers, walkers, pets, bird life, artist painting the scenery, not crowded, good exercise, lovely walk.
Tip: there is free parking and a clean bathroom on the road side.

I would highly recommend an early walk on this trail during a sunny day. Beautiful view of Quidi Vidi, ocean and rugged terrain.

We drove there from Signal Hill and it only takes 5 minutes. Another very nice little fishing port. Worth the visit.

Beautiful lake with a path that connects Quidi Vidi with St John's downtown.
Have a local brewery there too with great beer to buy or taste. Must try iceberg beer :)

Within walking distance of St. John's. A nice quiet walk. Make sure to check out the village of Quidi Vidi and it's info and artist centre.

I visited St. John's last weekend. I was looking for a course for my morning run, and I was very satisfied with Quidi Vidi Lake Trail. The course is relatively level and the view is just great. Watching the rowing team practice on the lake is also lots of fun.

We usually park at the back of the grocery store parking lot, right next to the lake trail.
Car theft is frequent here in St. John's so don't leave anything in your car while you go out for some exercise.
Depending on how fast you walk, you can moderately walk this in 45 minutes.

Where can I park to access the walking trail?

Either by the Dominion Store or there is also a parking lot off the Boulevard
