I toured with Iceberg Quest in July 2019. I am just joining trip advisor so decided to leave reviews for restaurants, hotels and businesses that really stood out to me. To say Iceberg Quest Ocean Tours in St. John’s, NL just ‘stands out’ would be an understatement. Being originally from Newfoundland and growing up near the ocean, I was amazed to tour out of the narrows and see hundreds of humpback whales feeding, playing and breaching. I was left absolutely speechless at how truly amazing wildlife in their natural habit can be, and too see it from the ocean is beyond belief. Along with the hundreds of whales we seen that day, we also seen puffins and other seabirds and one small iceberg that was left lingering in the area beyond the normal season. The captain knew exactly where to go to offer the best experience while providing information and knowledge about the buildings and structures on the hillside. The crew was amazing from the moment we met on the dock until we returned. I recommend anyone to take part in this tour, whether you are from Newfoundland or beyond. It truly is amazing!! I can’t wait to be able to visit and tour with Iceberg Quest again!!

Amazing boat tour, crew and views!

My husband and I have been on Iceberg Quests tours in both St. John’s and Twillingate while visiting our son who lives in Newfoundland.

I believe a total of 4 tours with them now and looking forward to being able to return to St. John’s to go for another.

Every trip we were delighted by how far the captain would take us to see icebergs or wildlife.
In 2017 while other boats weren’t willing to go the distance to the icebergs in Twillingate, captain Barry took us on a long journey to see three massive bergs, more than worth the long boat ride to see them.

We got to have drinks with iceberg ice in them, iceberg beer and lots of great Newfoundland music.

On another trip in Twillingate, captain Barry coaxed a young humpback whale alongside the boat for a great look. Later that same whale would breach next to our boat before saying goodbye.

The St. John’s tour is wonderful with the old city tour and the gorgeous views to cape spear (Twillingate also has amazing views).

Also great to note, if you keep your ticket stubs from one location and do their tour in the other, they will provide a discount. That among many reasons is why we continue to return to and be impressed by Iceberg Quest Tours.

Departed downtown St John's and went out to Cape Spear. Friendly employees, enjoyable live entertainment, good information presented by our tour host. Views of St John's from the harbour were spectacular. Saw a couple of puffins, no whales or icebergs (better to do that further north). Wear layers, it can get really cold in the wind. My cell phone died from the cold, wish I had brought handwarmers with me. Glad I had a hat - noticed that most of the folks without hats ended up inside instead of standing out on deck. Don't take a boat tour if you're prone to sea sickness; once you're out of the harbour there are some fantastic waves. Really enjoyed. Might be better to go to Bay Bulls / Witless Bay to see puffins, this tour is better for viewing the city and Cape Spear.

Amazing tour ! The captain was obviously in control of everything and had amazing insights into whale behaviors. It took us a little while to reach the whales but they did not turn around and kept searching to make sure we would see some. The crew was overall very knowledgeable and helpful. Kat was especially great and really had a knack for checking on us at the right times and offering information.

Loved it so much I was tempted to go on it again the next day !

Just got back from an amazing concert trip with Iceberg Quest and The Navigators (Arthur O’Brien and Fred Jorgenson). I can’t say enough good things about the whole experience. Fantastic music all the way, a mystical feeling thanks to the fog, and the company of a group of four humpbacks made for a very special evening. The captain and crew are top-notch, so friendly and taking care of each and every passenger. So helpful and kind! If you’re in the area and want a truly unique and uplifting time, come along on a concert cruise with Iceberg Quest!

Captain Barry and his crew were outstanding!! We made the trip in from GFW and despite the rain and fog in st johns, they made sure the trip was going ahead.
It was well worth every penny. The whales and puffins ans dolphins were amazing to watch and see, and the staff was very informative about the history of the city and the sights we had seen.

Had a beautiful afternoon on the water, enjoying one of the first concert cruises with Arthur O'Brien playing. Two hour trip out of the Harbour and around Cape Spear - the seas were calm but got rough around Cape Spear as you would expect. Also, plan for changes in weather as it was at least 10 degrees colder once we got out there. Staff was very friendly and checked in frequently to see if we needed anything, including blankets. Beer, water and boxed wine on offer (cash payment) but no snacks so bring your own. Music was great, and we could hear it throughout the boat. One whale swam by the boat, but it was a bit early in the year to see whales as the caplin hadn't rolled at the time of our trip. Highly recommend for a great way to see St. John's from a different vantage point and to have a fun boat trip.

Best boat tour in St. John's, NL! We went on the evening concert cruise tonight. Live music, whales, eagles, light houses, sea birds, caves, snacks and drinks. The most breathtaking scenery! The captain and staff took care of our every need. We will be going out again in a few weeks. Fare was very economical. Exceeded our expectations by far. Highly recommend to both local and visitors alike!

Wonderful experience going through the narrows in the St. John’s harbour. Live band played many Newfoundland classics and of course we saw lots of whales breaching! Guides were very hospitable, making sure to point out easy to miss things such as a bald eagle on the rocks. Jane is also a great photographer!

The staff were excellent and the live music was fabulous. The whales were active and the dolphins were jumping. The gannats were flying high. Could not have asked for a better evening. We left St. Johns harbour and went past Cape Spear and returned. Both the captain and the musician provided some facts about the birds and the whales. The picture opportunities where absolutely stunning. There was hardly any wind. We spent all our time on deck enjoying cold drinks and great company.
