George Street is the perfect venue for a pub crawl. During the days that we were in St. John’s the weather was perfectly balmy and George Street was packed with all-aged partiers at night. Music blared from one pub to the next including some great Newfoundland tunes. The restaurants serve the typical pub food required after a late night out.

Visited the street during the night. Was okay but not what I expected. There were bars and pubs all along the street which was not as long as expected. If you have visited Toronto this will not impress you. Did not expect places to have a cover charge. Did not end up going into a bar as the music did... More

We are older less energetic travellers in our retirement years. we don't often frequent pubs and stay up later than 11pm. Well that changed in Newfoundland, The people , the music and the food (beer included) was so much fun and a way to meet the locals. GeorgeSt. is pub after pub, local music everywhere, Yes we visited all the famous... More

It was difficult to get in to eat at some place as it was small but still had a great time walking the street and enjoying the atmosphere.

Compared to other pub streets, this one is not very lively. There are different pubs but still something is missing. Although, one of the popular things to do on this street is screeching. It's a Newfoundland tradition that visitors should at least watch.

I am here in St. John's for two weeks training the staff of a newly opening restaurant. I was told to check our George Street (without knowing anything about it) and even during the early evening hours I was already impressed by the sheer numbers of bars and pubs lining the pedestrian-only street. I hit up around 8 or 9... More

I love George Street as any true Newfoundlander does. It is wonderful experience and it had all the bars that you're looking for from irish pubs to clubs to karaoke bars. you certainly won't be disapointed if you visit!

Such a great night out with friends! Chances are, you'll run into old friends and make some new ones while you're there! Great bars, great music and great food!
