Memorial University was one of several universities we toured for university visits for our son and I hate to say it but it did not impress. Mind you we're comparing this to schools like University of Chicago and Northwestern but also NIU which seems more on par. From a college visit standpoint, it was way too long (2 hours) just walking through the hallways of a couple of buildings, then another hour for the dorms and another hour to meet with a counselor. I feel like they should tailor their tours to their audiences, maybe ask what interests kids instead of pushing what they think kids want to see.…

I was here with my son, he is studying here right now. I went there to enroll and pay fees and help my son to settle down. It was a very nice and huge university. I love it, my son is enjoying his studies here.

It was great to swim at the Memorial pool while I was here. The cost to get in is $4.85 - and last yeapr it was $2.50 and the hours have been greatly reduced - with the swim from 12:00-14:00, Monday to Friday completely done away with and the hours are now very limited. Last night for example, there was swimming from 8:30-9:30 pm.- not great when you swim for an hour. But the pool is fine, not great, but fine and I prefer it to the Acquarena, and there are lockers - bring your own lock - and lots of hot water.…

Visit if you have a reason -- business, to see a professor, to visit with a student. But the campus is not particularly attractive.

I was here to work at Queens College, Faculty of Theology. The campus is lovely (our building overlooked a beautiful lake) and the people were very welcoming.
