Went to their current location in St. John's. Never tried ax throwing. Went with family (adult children) and had a great time. Super-friendly staff, good help to get going, then just had fun and a beer (ok, a few). Will definitely go back.

Great fun! What could be more fun than drinking beer and throwing axes?
The answer is nothing! It's the utilmate fun!
The "instructors" are fun and helpful.
They have a good bar with lots of craft beers on tap.
Really good place to get your fun on with colleagues or friends, or even family!

We all enjoyed ourselves here. Was a group of about 20. Good time had by all. Beer was good. Bartender service could use a little improvement. Didn’t seem overly friendly.

This was a good bit of fun for something different around town. The staff were good, but I did find the bartender a bit stand offish...not great when dealing with customers is your job. Also, could use some help in the ax sharpening department. We found the axes looked shiny after they sharpened them but were hardly sharp. I do recommend this place to friends for a good time out. Beer was great!!

Pros
- spirited venue, with enthusiastic employees
- employees can teach you the basics, including safety precautions
- they are serious about safety
- good music, relaxed atmosphere
- 8 lanes; the back is a little nicer
- band-aids are free, if you accidentally cut yourself
Neutral
- not a lot of places to sit down
- Not much by way of food is served, other than drinks

Who doesn’t love throwing sharp projectiles?? I was a bit nervous - clumsy plus axes seemed like a bad idea. But once they showed us what to do - we were off and running. I was hooked after my first crappy throw - but once I started nailing the target I was ready to join a club back at home! 🤣 So addicting - hopefully we can do this again soon - we’re hooked!

We went to Jack Axes with a group of 12 people while we were in St John's for the weekend. It was a great time! Something different and fun to try. Had lots of laughs. Staff was very helpful explaining how to throw an axe etc. Wish I could say the same about the staff at the bar. Service at the bar was fair at best.

Hey, thanks a lot for your review. We are glad you enjoyed the Axe Throwing but are very disappointed to hear your service at the bar was not satisfactory. Our goal is excellent customer service and rest assured this will be addressed at our next meeting . Thanks again.

After an expensive meal at the best restaurant in town (Raymond's), the waiter asked my boyfriend and I what our plans were for the rest of the evening...and I blurted out "We're going to THROW AXES!!" He thought that was the greatest thing he'd ever heard!! And it WAS!!!! What a FUN experience and it's harder than it looks!! I was even given proper footwear to wear inside to protect my toes. You have to go and try this! You won't regret it!
