Spectacular hike
Sep 2016 • Couples
You'll need 2 cars: one at each end. However, it's a spectacular hike that starts with windswept rocky grassy trails, goes through some wooded area, and comes out at Quidi Vidi. Along the way you will be hiking below the dump and so you would see some plastic debris caught in the branches. Nevertheless, it's a wonderful way to spend a day. The trail is a bit rough in places but entirely manageable.

Challenging hike and well worth the effort
Aug 2016 • Friends
This hiking trail offers an abundance of the magnificent scenery that makes Newfoundland famous. It begins at Memorial University's Ocean Sciences Centre and ends at Quidi Vidi village in St. John's. The path is about 9km long and fairly rugged and rocky. Be prepared for a half-day of challenging terrain and lovely scenic vistas.

What to bring: this is a tough trail that will make you feel like a wilderness explorer, even though you're actually very close to the city. The only facilities are at the beginning and end. Bring weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear, food and water for the day, and of course your camera! Note that the trail distance and time apply a one-way trip, so you will either have make a round trip or arrange transportation back to your original starting point.
