Beautiful island, with a good touristic offer (B & B, few hotels, Inns, and 2 nice campings, few restaurants) ... and not so many tourists ; a great place. We stayed at the Hole-in-the-wall camping, and it's a great place for tent camping : on...More

For just a 90 minute ferry ride each way you get to see spectacular scenery unspoiled by bus loads of people. A hidden gem in Canada. Southwest Head was a highlight as well as dulse harvesting at low tide at Dark Harbour.

Went over on the ferry at 11:30 and returned on the 5:30 ferry. That was a good amount of time to travel the island and go in and out of dirt roads to see small bays. Met long time residents of the island on the...More

Stunning, picturesque & refreshing! What a lovely, lovely island. A day or weekend stay is just not enough. The views are stunning, the locals are super friendly, the seafood has been delicious and even the weather cooperated for our stay. This island is a MUST...More

After spending $60 for the ferry to visit this much-lauded island, we can't understand what the fuss is about. The natural attractions must be the only draw that we can see because the rest of the island is downright depressing and it's obvious that the...More

Just visited Grand Manan for 4 days (3 nights camping at Hole in the Wall Campground). Wonderful trip. The 1.5 hour ferry was smooth (no whale sightings as we were a little early--more whales after the middle of July). Camping worked well for us. On...More

The good and the bad. The ferry was very easy except I had to call as there seemed to be problems with their on line booking. Boarded easily and was there within the time frame. The ferry ride was nice, accommodating and has a restaurant...More

I would say yes : not too big an island, and the sea is everywhere beautiful. Some roads are a bit on the rough side, but all manageable. The people drive quite slowly too. Have a nice trip.

There is LOTS to do while visiting the Island! July is one of the busiest months on Grand Manan! Definitely worth the trip - you would regret skipping out! :)

It’s recommended to bring your car as the island’s main road is 24km long. You’ll miss out on a lot of special spots down island.
