Awesome views. A frozen Hudson Bay on one side and the part of town of Churchill on the other. It is an other worldly landscape to those of us who have only read about this area. One we will never forget.

I learned this was on Inukschoot. How cool it was to learn a new word and actually see that it meant. The waters of Hudson Bay were right behind it and the ice was forming. What a great backdrop this was. AND the sun was...More

This is a great spot to start a visit to Churchill. As winter sees in, the grease ice is forming along the shore, and be on the look for polar bears who are waiting for the freeze. The road also runs by the large community...More

We drove along this road man times as part of the Michael Bertelsen Polar bear photography tour. It is a nice long beach with beautiful land and sea scapes. The colours are amazing. The wonderful thing about this shore line is the few occasions we...More

This is a wonderful place to get a view of Hudson Bay. Dress warm as the wind blows right off the water. Great place to see the Northern Lights but go in a group as this area can be visited by the polar bears

This dirt road starts at Canada's first pre-fabricated wooden church (Anglikan) and passes the shown Inuksuit, a beached trawler and a quite popular BBQ spot. We were lucky to have a great view both on an arriving barge, Belugas and Polar Bears. In the latter...More

The best thing to see on Bay Shore Road is the iconic Inukshuk which overlooks the Hudson Bay. Inukshuks originate from roots of the Inuit culture. If you are lucky enough to be there during the deep, dark of winter you might get to see...More

Churchill in late October is cold and grey, but fascinating nonetheless. POLAR BEAR PATROL vehicles go around time, as Polar bears DO wander in to town. We were on our way to a 3 day stay out on the tundra with FRONTIERS NORTH which was...More

This site (and driving along this road) was one of our first stops in Churchill. It is a beautiful setting. We all posed for photos....Hudson was frozen solid. Lovely inukshuk. No signs of bears. Neat boat on site also. You should definitely stop here when...More

These inutsuks , as they are called, are figures of man. In this spot they were spaced with a stone table and some chairs. Very pretty with the bay in the background. Worth a stop if you are driving around!
