I booked a day's private steep skiing clinic for my two teenage sons and I. I'd considered cat skiing or a heli day but the cost, and that you can't be sure who you'll share with and whether it'll be the day of days had me looking at other options. Fortunately, I landed on Extremely Canadian and it couldn't have worked out better. The advance booking advice was helpful, informative, and encouraging, and the day itself was fantastic. We were fortunate to have Steve for the day, and immediately warming to his low-key approach and dry sense of humour, we spent the day skiing increasingly interesting routes at Blackcomb. It was a great day out, we skipped the queues, skied wonderful untracked powder, and skied increasingly interesting routes as our confidence and comfort on steep ground over the course of the day. Brilliant.

My two sons (ages 13 and 17) and I did a one-day private steeps clinic with Extremely Canadian. Our guide Suzy was terrific. She served as both an expert instructor who gave us helpful tips and an extremely knowledgeable guide for this huge resort. The experience overall was great. I highly recommend EC if you are traveling to Whistler.

I book a private lesson for my husband as a surprise. He is a great skiier but I wanted him to explore Blackcombe/Whistler off piste terrain and had a chance to improve his technique. The company helped me plan ‘made to measure’ day for my husband and he had an awesome time skiing with Mindy. She took him to the tree runs, off piste runs. Another advantage is that you don’t have to wait in the lines for a chair lift. Thank you Extremely Canadian a lot! Already planning another lesson with you.

From start to finish, the two day experience was amazing -- from accommodating a mountain pickup location on day one to setting me up with appropriate skis for the terrain right through to the apres on day 2. I had a lot of hesitation about my ability to handle the terrain - comfortable on most blacks generally. The progression over the two days was remarkable -- from the first 'triage' run just past the saddle I went from barely in control at 9am on Saturday to comfortable in trees, on steep terrain and on some runs that I never thought I'd be able to do by Sunday. Paul, our guide/instructor/counselor was a perfect fit for our group of four (also a great match among the four of us in terms of ability, areas of interest and terrain). Paul knew when to give us some instruction and also when to push us just outside our comfort zone but never too far and never in a way that we felt at all unsafe. He helped open up parts of the mountain that I hadn't hit and we ski every weekend in ski season up there. He and everyone involved are all just good people. I'll definitely do the clinic again. Thanks to all involved in the experience at Extremely Canadian and to all the guests who took time to post reviews as they were helpful.

This was my time out into the back-country and glad i did it with this company. I felt extremely safe and Dave our guide for the day found suitable terrain to cover the different skill levels within the group. First off we were given an introduction to all of our safety equipment. I was confident that should the worst happen i'd know what to do. Then we set off over to 7th Heaven to begin the skinning out over to Disease Ridge. The terrain was challenging without being too difficult, i was definitely pushed out of my comfort zone. We managed to get 3 runs in for the day, which was enough when you take into account the effort to skin to the top. I can not speak highly enough of our guide Dave who made sure we were always comfortable and safe. Would i do this again? Hell yes!
