If you are visiting Whistler and need to purchase or rent gear this is the place to go. The staff are all so honest and friendly. We starting purchasing gear from them a few years ago and would not go anywhere else. They are in Creekside & we stay at Blackcomb but we still go there. They NEVER try to sell you the most expensive gear and have even talked us out of buying something for my son and recommending he use the boots he had for one more year and then purchase - Who does this???? Simply an amazing staff. We have purchased used skis for my daughter and then the next year used skis for my son and then a new snowboard for him. They recommended the less expensive used board for him since he is growing but my son really had his mind set on the new one he purchased. They made sure that was a good fit for him and they were correct. He enjoyed it so much. Ryan and Thomas are the owners and I can't say enough good words about them. Their staff rock as well, all have the same warm, friendly attitude like Ryan and Thomas. After 3 years of purchasing from them we don't even think to look in the states before we go there. Hopefully the kids will stop growing and I'll be updating my gear but probably not much of need until I upgrade my skiing ability.

If you are hiring bikes in Whistler then this is THE place to go! Ryan and his team of knowledgeable and friendly staff will take care of you. They really know their stuff.
As for the bikes, these are as good as you can get. Full carbon Santa Cruz bikes that are set up right and maintained to the highest standards. When spending thousands coming to whistler, you need to get decent bikes. A full range on armour etc is offered. We particularly liked the kids gear and the bikes were perfect for them too. Ask about their Nomad in small as it was a perfect fit for our 12yr old.
Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. They even provided us with free transport to and from whistler village on our first day!
We'll be back for sure. Cheers guys.

Once again I got my rentals from the guys at Coastal. Super friendly staff, always at hand to help out with any last minute tunes or even to point you out to some of the best trails around. Bikes were top notch, service was second to none... will keep going back... as usual!:)
Cheers guys!

These guys kill it. Friendly, talented, and live the whistler lifestyle. I’ve been for both winter and summer seasons and they’re the go to spot for rentals and some dope clothes.

These guys have great rates, great gear and really friendly staff. The 4 legged furry friend perched on the counter is cute as well!

The staff were amazing, really helpful and friendly. I paid for the premium package and got brand new skis and snowboards which I could regularly swap depending on the conditions.

Best bike/ski shop in Whistler by far!! Their staff is super friendly and VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE about anything related to traversing mountains. I was unsure what mountain bike to buy, and Tom - the owner - gave me a detailed run down of great options to meet my needs and price point. He discussed the pros and cons of each bike and patiently answer all my questions!! I learned a great deal just by talking with him. Coastal Culture is the west coast vibe and one of the few remaining independent retailers in Whistler. I highly highly highly recommend checking this spot out to get to meet your skiing/biking needs as well as getting a true feel for what the real Whistler is all about :)

Great bike shop. Bought a deraileur from them, a week later started having trouble with it. Coastal Culture replaced the unit no charge. Fantastic service.

We hired 5 bikes. The staff were knowledgable and friendly. They had no issues with setting the bikes up for UK riders (brake switches) and putting on our pedals. There was a good choice of quality helmets in all sizes as well as body armour. We hired XC hardtail (lightweight Rocky mountain) along with Santa Cruz Bronson, Nomad and V10. All were well maintained and in really good condition. They have a good range of younger teen suitable high quality bikes (our daughter took the Rocky mountain Reaper). They also supply free locks to use and offer overnight storage of hire bikes - which was really reassuring as I understand there is bike theft in whistler. 2 notes of caution - the damage protection is not included ($25 per bike, per day - so costly for multiple bikes!) and if you wish to use the bike park (which you would be mad not to) then you need to hire either the Bronson or the V10. However for other non-bike park days there are many, many well marked and designed trails catering for all abilities (including nutters) which the staff will tell you about. Also - this is a fantastic hire facility and so they do sometimes run low of bikes, so book ahead!

Recommended by our AirBnb owner and sure enough the first day in Whistler we had a mechanical issue. Coastal took a look right away and provided a couple different options to fix so we could get back on the trails. Also a good selection of clothing and accessories. Everyone in the shop was extremely friendly including the chocolate lab who really likes belly rubs.
