I've been to many museums, big & small, all over Canada & this is one small town museum that is worth a visit. You get a real sense of the people who pioneered this area & their successes .

The collection of artifacts is really quite suprising for such a small museum. It encompasses a wide range of Vernon's history with exhibits themed around periods of the city's development. The other great thing is the photo archive which is searchable (not super great but usable) and they have a variety of options to print your selected photo.

Vernon's museum is situated downtown near the City Hall. We spent almost 2 hours there learning about the history of Vernon and area. I enjoy touring museum's in new towns I visit as it provides a context for the community. This museum does a wonderful job of displaying artifacts and giving a sense of the history of the people of the area. Staff were friendly and welcoming yet left us to tour on our own. I will certainly return on my next visit.

The artifacts were excellent; I especially like doing the taxidermy . The cougar and bobcat were the best in my estimation ; the owls were great too . The large clock was interesting ; still usable .

I had the great privledge to be one of the parent escorts to my granddaughters kindergarten class to the museum. What a fantastic time we all had. We were greeted at the door by our resident tour guide Mr. Bowman who did an amazing job speaking to the kids. He had some very good hands on items to pass around the class and was very knowledgeable about the museum and displays. We spent approx. 1 1/2 hours inside.
This Vernon gem is well worth the time to stop in to view the many displays and exibits from our past. Will definately go again. Admission is by donation.

This is the best small museum I have visited. As a former history teacher I have visited hundreds of museums. This one is well displayed, very accurate, and well documented items. I saw several items I had never seen before. Friendly people and a simple donation to enter. Don't visit Vernon without a stop at this museum in the government complex.

The lady at the front was very friendly so was the other staff. This museum has some wonderful exhibits and really tells the history of Vernon. It is well with a visit. Admission is by donation so make sure you have cash on hand when you go to visit.

The museum needs more space but has done a great job with the history of Vernon, the Vernon Army Camp and much more.
