This is a several kilometer walk each way. A bit of construction going on but oh well, the current mayor of Victoria seems to want to waste so much money on fixing things that are not broken. Besides all that, its a great walk in a beautiful area. If you have the time and the energy, its an easy swing over to Beacon Hill park. Short walk up to Cook Street Village as well. This area is one of my favorite goto spots in the city. I can go for a relaxing walk along the water or go own to the water, the park, Cook St, Just go. Dallas Rd is the connector to dozens of the best spots the city has to offer.

This beach is amazing. At one end lies the oldest cemetery in Victoria - Ross Bay cemetery. Ross Bay is beautiful and faces Port Angeles in the U.S. which is visible from the famous Clover Point and all beaches along the shore here. Kite flying - international competitions are held once annually at Clover Point and include night flying with lit up kites late at night. The famous Swiftsure Yacht race departs from Ross Bay. Paddling, kite surfers, wind surfers, kayaking and paddle boards are always out on the water. There is a wide concrete walkway built in the early 1900's ideal for elderly or disabled to enjoy the water. Throughout the year many civic events take place here. The Tour de Victoria, the Terry Fox Run, Run for the Cure, family events and more. There is a cemetery tour and nearby historic sights and a walkway that extends all the way to Victoria's inner harbour, passing the breakwater at Ogden point. I have the luxury of living here and want others to enjoy the beauty of Dallas Road and its beaches.

Did this walk to explore some of the quieter side of Victoria. Take the path from Fisherman's wharf and follow the coastline. A well made path all the way and stunning views out to sea and the wildlife & bird life there . Loved all the older style wooden buildings along this route Lots of park benches on the way to sit and enjoy views or enjoy a picnic. We turned off at the world largest totem pole and cut back through the stunning Beacon Hill Park , Great way to spend a few hours in the sunshine

Under 'normal' circumstances I would have left a 5* review of Dallas Road. So? Right now the whole of Dallas Road is going through a major upgrade, especially the sea wall on the south side.

It will take you FAR longer to drive through the Road's entirety if you go right now. The construction that is going on at the moment can take many more months to complete. When it does I am sure all will be well rewarded, but to wait this long?

I had to use my eyes ONLY to see if there was a spot free on the north side of the road where construction did not seem to be happening. Or using a side street where I could safely and legally park. I was in search for areas where dogs could swim on the smooth pebbled beaches. Not great I have to admit, but was heaven to see my girl run up and down the beach.

Many locals we talked to recommended Dallas Road's walk along the water during our vaction. It was worth it: sea, sky, pebble beach, driftwood, paved paths, all on a dry, sunny, cool-breeze day. This was a quiet retreat from big city movement. Enjoyed it immensely!

sadly every where seems to be an off leash area to let pit bulls and mangy canines run free. we were fascinated by a large otter eating a crab on the quiet rocky shore when yet another scary looking dog appeared. i am sure it was a lovely friendly animal but wasnt going to risk a child to find out.

So beautiful. Been there by the end of September. The weather was perfect. The breeze, the sun... A walk by Dallas Road Beach is inevitable.

I don't live anywhere near Dallas Rd but have gone there a couple of times in the last few months on beautiful sunny days. It's a huge draw for locals and tourists alike. There's lots of parking along the way. The walking path can be quite busy at lunch time with runners/joggers dog-walkers. You can choose to walk on the paved bath, wander down to the beach, or take a seat on any of the many benches along the path. You'd be remiss if you didn't stroll (or drive) along here on a trip to Victoria.

Yesterday (Sep 19) had great weather for a drive on Dallas Road. There were hang gliders able to be seen from most of Dallas, and especially from Clover Point. Parking is either road side or from special angle parking sections of Dallas. There is a good sidewalk near the cliffs, and lots of grassy area.

A sunset drive along Cadboro Bay Rd./Beach Drive/Dallas Road is s regular feature of life in this beautiful city. I like to travel this lovely scenic road starting at Cadboro Bay, near the University of Victoria, veering left onto Beach Dr. through The Uplands, a sharp left at Hollywood Cres, will bring you to Dallas Rd. and through to The Breakwater. about a 25 minute drive with only one stop sign, though estate property, a golf course, sighting marinas and lighthouses, beaches, the ocean in sight on your left for most of the way. Stunning!
