We were at our last stop in Victoria BC on a 7 day Alaska cruise. Elton met us just outside of the cruise terminal and had a custom itinerary laid out for our group. I honestly thought that this was going to be a way to spend some time with our family and had fairly low expectations, but this ended up being one of the favorite things we did on our vacation. Elton was very knowledgeable about the brewing and distilling process, and took us to several incredible locations. If you are looking for a fun way to spend the day in Victoria, I highly recommend reaching out to Elton and let him put together a custom tailored tour for your group. The beer, Scotch, and hard cider was soooo good too.

Our group of friends were visiting town to celebrate birthdays, and wanted to do something fun and celebratory, and the brewery tour was perfect. It was very easy to arrange the tour, and our guide Elton was very knowledgable and fun, everyone had a really great time. The distillery add-on at Twa Dogs was great, too. Very much recommend taking the tour!

We went on a brewery tour with West Coast Brewery Tours for a bachelorette party, and we cannot not say enough good things about it. From the moment I contacted Elton, he was helpful, friendly and on top of things. He had great recommendations for our tour, and he clearly knows Victoria's brewery industry very well. Elton was right on time picking us up, and the vehicle we traveled around in was very comfortable and perfect for a larger group. We all loved the generous quantities of beer, and Elton was able to provide interesting backgrounds on the breweries and the individual beers. I would definitely recommend West Coast Brewery Tours!

My family and I made our last stop in Victoria, BC after a 7 day cruise adventure. Although the cruise was amazing as were all the cities we got to explore, Victoria was at the top of my list. My brother and I wanted to do something just us and what better activity than drinking beer! Elton was really cool and full of information, we really enjoyed his enthusiasm. We LOVED the Lighthouse Brewery tour. We learned so much and everyone there was really chill and knew their craft. The tour as a whole was only a few hours so I could have stood one more stop but time was of the essence due to cruise time restrictions. Just wanted to get on and say a few kind words and advise others to take the time in BC to take a ride with Elton and catch a buzz on the local brews. All the way from Dallas, TX we just wanted to thank everyone who hooked us up with great service and we look forward to seeing those beers in the states!

Last stop on our Alaska cruise was Victoria, BC. Our group of 10 decided to do something a little different. We hired this company, led by owner Elton. We went to three different micro-breweries. It was a safe and informative ride. Elton made sure that we were treated like VIP! I would definitely suggest this tour. Yes, the beer was excellent. He poured the beer himself, explaining the tastes and how they were made, with a tour of the micro-breweries. You also have an option to enjoy a meal at one of them. Cheers!

We planned this excursion for a party of six, and to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday. I was one of two non-beer drinkers in our little group, and when Elton, the owner and tour guide found out we didn't partake, he quickly encouraged us that we would find *something* we liked! And boy, was he right!

The first stop was at Phillips Brewing...in this "hopping" little establishment, Bill was our Hawaiian Garbed Brewmeister (it was Halloween) who educated us on four different types of beer before we headed to the back of the house to see how it all comes together! It was fascinating to see all the equipment and to learn more about what it takes to create a fine craft beer. But I have to tell you...DO NOT MISS purchasing a 6-pack of Phillip's ROOT BEER or GINGER ALE products. Elton gave me and my other tea-totaling friend our choice of a nice cold soda....and, I kid you not, these are the BEST I have ever tasted. Ever. Did I mention, EVER???!!! The ingredients are easy to pronounce and the flavors are simply incredible. Before we left this location, Bill was kind enough to give each person on the tour a commemorative glass, which made it safely home with us!.

We left there, and headed for my personal favorite place on the tour, LIGHTHOUSE Brewery. Ok. When we first pulled up, I wondered, "What can be behind that door in this storage unit style building?" I was surprised to find not only a cool guy who gave up his Saturday to come and talk about beer....but I also found the VERY FIRST BEER that I have ever wanted to drink!!! And, friends, not only did I find one type, but sipping that one gave me the courage to try them all! Elton was so great throughout the tour, helping to pour and to educate...in fact, it was his suggestion for us to try his personal favorite - the Vanilla Stout - and we ended up taking three Bombers of it home with us! You can tell that his relationship with this group of Brewers is special.

Lastly, we went to Moon Under Water Brewpub. Here, we got to see the teeny tiny workings, where all of the bottling and labeling is done by hand! We got to try four more beers, and ate some yummy appetizers. Elton actually served us the beers as the pub was pretty busy, and he gave us the behind-the-scenes look at the operation.

I was sad to have to end our tour. After dropping all of the others off at the meeting spot, Elton agreed to take us back to our hotel, since it was on his way. What a nice guy! I should also tell you that he allowed us a quick stop at the Liquor store, where he pointed out some of the products made by the Breweries we had just been to.

I can't say enough good things about Elton and His West Coast Brewery Tour. The value for the price point is excellent, and I learned more about beer than I ever thought I would because of Elton's vast knowledge and willingness to put up with my silly questions. Be sure to tip him generously; He's sure does know what he is doing!!

There is really only one prerequisite for going on this tour...you enjoy trying a wide variety of beer styles, familiar or not. If you are thinking to yourself "I hope they have lagers and nothing but" or something along those lines, this tour is not for you.

This tour is all about micro-brews, specifically those micro-brewers found in the Victoria, BC area (although Elton, our tour guide, told us that the company is going to be expanding its tours to the mid/upper Vancouver Island area). Our particular tour started at 11h30 at the Victoria Clipper ferry terminal. Elton picked us all up (11 people altogether, if I'm not mistaken) and off we went to our first brewery. Elton, himself a home brewer hobbyist, is very knowledgeable about the full Victoria micro-brew scene, and the company even sells a book regarding micro-breweries in BC (which is evidently an exploding scene...double the micro-breweries in the province in the past 2 years).

First brewery was the flagship-bearer for the whole scene...Phillips. Phillips put on a fantastic tour, with a walk through the brewery, a rundown on some of the new things coming out of the brewery (distillation...gin...tonics...fantastic!), a look at all aspects of their operations, and samples of about 7 different types of beers, from lager to porter to hyper-high-alcohol hop-heavy.

Everybody was pretty loose after this tour, and then we were off to a smaller brew-house, Moon Under Water. This is a much smaller operation, but also a quite different tour than Phillips in that their brew-master is one of only ~40 certified brew-masters in Canada, and the tour was very comprehensive on the hows of the whole brewing process. One fascinating thing I found about Moon Under Water is that there were all kinds of little home-brew-looking fermenters around the place...and the fellow giving the tour told us that they were all experimental small brew batches being put together by their brew-master (the tour-giver's son). Again, we got a lot of beer samples here, and everybody was becoming quite familiar and friendly with each other by this time.

The tour ended at another brew pub, Canoe. A quicker rundown through the brewing area (not as interesting as Moon Under Water, nowhere near as comprehensive as Phillips), a few samples, but the nice thing about ending here was that we could choose whether or not to get dropped where we started, or we could stick around and have some more beers and food from the restaurant...which is what we all pretty much chose to do, because drinking beer for 2-and-a-half hours straight works up a good mid-afternoon hunger.

All in all, if you like beer in all its varieties, and you happen to be in the Victoria area, this tour comes highly recommended. You'll drink a lot of great beer, you'll have a fantastic time, and you may even make some new friends.

For starters, Elton, the owner and guide, is awesome. Great attitude and clearly a lover of all things craft beer.

We were able to hit 4 breweries (some people rescheduled at the last minute giving our small group a more intimate tour). Started at Phillips which provided a great amount of detail and knowledge for a "newb" like myself. From there we moved on to driftwood, 4mile and Moon under water brewpub

I learned a lot about the art of craft brewing and can now appreciate it and my city's brew scene even more. Would recommend this to everyone, both locals and tourists.

Elton hosted the most wonderful brewery tour this fall as a staff outing. It was amazing to meet so many local business owners, sample the diverse craft brews, and learn the interesting history of the different brewerys and brew pubs. There is so much passion in this industry and Elton`s excitement and professionalism really added to the tour experience. West Coast Brewery Tours is very hospitable stocking complimentary water bottles and granola bars and the transportation is very comfortable. I would highly recommend this tour to friends and family members, and plan to take advantage of future seasonal tours.

This past Saturday our family group met Elton of West Coast Brewery outside at Swan's Hotel & Brew Pub downtown Victoria. From the time of our initial meeting with Elton we assured us of a good evening ahead - a statement he surpassed. We first headed to the market square where we experienced the new craft brewery Whistle Buoy - we live in Victoria and we're surprised to learn of this brewing company - and what a great surprise it was. One of the beers was a cranberry beer...whoa..and I actually enjoyed it! We had a couple of other unique selections offered by one of the owners - I believe Isaiah. Elton too had a tasty surprise for us, while we were there. (Treat from Glen Wood Meats) From there we headed to Varsha - where we had unbelievably Great East Indian Food paired with some local beer samples Then we had a special treat during our walk to our final stop (which you'll have to find out yourself on the tour) then back to Swans...where we sampled some beer right from the VAT !! Elton provided a wonderful evening for us and we scored big points with our visiting family, all who enjoyed. Thanks Elton...we'll be back!
