Elizabeth was super nice, knowledgeable and fun. We took a beautiful hike through old growth forests with a creek running through it to Hatley Castle and the Japanese gardens there. It was a hot day though. So we cooled off at the 6 Mile Pub, the oldest in Victoria. Next we were off to a beach that had driftwood art along it, really nice. Then we drove down a narrow winding but gorgeous country road to Goldstream Provincial Park. We Hiked through a tunnel and up a rugged path to Niagara Falls. Gorgeous park wonderful waterfalls. Last stop was a resort overlooking the Pacific where we had a wonderful lunch. We saw an Eagle flying and had a hummingbird hang out by the window. You could see Mt Baker and other huge mountains and the pacific from our table. The views were incredible. I highly recommend EV Tour’s and Elizabeth.

My family of 4 from California stopped in Victoria on 6/22/18 as the last port of an Alaskan cruise. Our guide, John, was there right on time with our name on an EV Tours sign as we disembarked. Just as we requested when booking, John proceeded to take us through various distinctive neighborhoods in Victoria, on the way to Butchart Gardens. There, we spent about an hour while John, who turned out to be an expert on the park's history and botanical profile, guided and kept us on schedule for our 4-hour tour. We headed back on a route through Chinatown and past the Empress, as we requested. An unexpected bonus was that John worked for many years as a curator at the Calgary Zoo, which earned him instant street cred with our daughters who attend a high school affiliated with the Los Angeles Zoo. Not surprisingly, our girls pronounced this EV Tour the best of the several shore excursions we had on the cruise, and I would agree.

I cannot say enough good things about EV Tours, owner Elizabeth, and our tour guide John. From the first conversation by phone to the last moment of our two days, we experienced example after example of incredible customer service, Elizabeth helped me customize two days of private experiences for our group of six. She chose a winery and a beach side cafe for our two lunches, suggested sites of interest, and made all the reservations, John was incredibly knowledgeable and a wonderful conversationalist with stories about his experiences with animals, building, local trees and plants, and Vancouver Island history. John went out of his way to personalize our experiences and to assure we saw everything we wanted to see plus so much more. A real highlight of our second day was an unexpected tour of the Island's observatory and telescope as we were heading toward Buchart Gardens. John's personalized service even extended to the small details.... he researched and answered why a certain favorite grocery item of mine seemed to be out of stock everywhere (a processing problem led to a local shortage), The vehicle John drove for us was nearly new and very comfortable. Everything about EV tours is first class, yet affordable. I highly recommend this company and will use them again when I return to the Island. Thank you Elizabeth and John for the wonderful. memorable experiences we will cherish for a lifetime.

Based on tripadvisor reviews, my friend and I booked a 5 hour tour with EV tours for our first visit to Victoria. Our tour guide, John, picked us up at our hotel and drove us around areas of Victoria that we had asked to see and through other areas that we would not even have known about including several lookouts with beautiful views of the ocean and Vancouver Island. We drove through the harbor area, Chinatown, some residential areas, Craigdarroch Castle and Government House on our way to Butchart Gardens where he escorted us all throughout the grounds. We enjoyed every minute of the tour and found John to be a wonderful guide with a relaxed and comfortable personality. He is very familiar with the area and the gardens, very flexible in showing us exactly the kinds of things that we wanted to see, and very willing to proceed at our pace. He is knowledgeable about local flora and fauna and told us interesting stories about conservation efforts for orcas and other wildlife in the area. This was a great tour – we so appreciated being able to relax and enjoy sightseeing without worrying about finding our own way around an unfamiliar location and also without being part of a large bus excursion “herd.” We would definitely book another EV tour with John on a future visit to Victoria.

Wow! How lucky my partner, son and myself were to have stumbled upon Elizabeth for our first visit to Victoria. I had booked a 5 hour tour with her to show us over her beautiful island, and she went beyond to cater to our interests. What a lovely lady. Incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, gracious and fun. I loved that the tour was so flexible, and as she got to know us, she made additional stops to show us things she knew we would enjoy. The car was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. And what a great host.....she provided everything we would need, including raincoats! It was like we were being shown around by a loved family friend - how awesome is that. Thankyou Elizabeth, one of the highlights of our Canadian trip. xxxx

My husband, mom and I had the good fortune to spend three hours with Elizabeth touring Victoria. Elizabeth is a joy to be with. She loves what she does and is very knowledgeable about the history of Victoria and its many beautiful places. She was flexible with unplanned stops of interest and the time on our tour just flew by. We highly recommend her!

Elizabeth was waiting as soon as we got off the ship. Very comfortable ride. Very knowledgeable about Victoria. Much cheaper to see Victoria and butchart gardens with EV tours than getting an excursion through the cruise line.

We had the best day of our trip on our private tour of Victoria and Butchart Gardens! We were originally scheduled to tour with Elizabeth since we read so many good reviews. But, she got injured on another tour and set us up with Chris instead. Elizabeth and Chris both handled this change with professionalism and we really appreciated their communication about the change.

Chris was an outstanding tour guide. He made sure that we all had a good time and he gave my elderly mother-in-law special attention. Chris has numerous credentials and lots of experience which made him the perfect guide for our trip. He was very professional and skilled at helping us make the most of our trip. Chris is a great guy and we loved spending the day with him!

We were a party of five adults and this private tour was so much better than going on a group tour. It was well worth the extra money to have our own vehicle, personalized tour based on our needs and a wonderful tour guide. I highly recommend EV Tours and both Chris and Elizabeth. We will use them on our next trip!

We took the ferry from Seattle to Victoria and it took us almost an hour to disembark and go through customs. The ferry landed at 10:30 (which is when our tour began) but we didn't get in the car until 11:30. I'm including this so others taking the ferry will be aware. So try to get off the ferry asap. Another thought is to have your tour start a little later - say 11 or 11:30 so you aren't paying for your guide to wait for you.

Butchart Gardens were the highlight of the trip. They were incredible and I wish we had more time there. Due to the delay with the ferry, we had to cut our time at Butchart short which was such a shame. We rented a motorized scooter for my mother-in-law ($80). I recommend the motorized scooter over the manual wheel chair because of the hills. I saw lots of people pushing.... and was glad that was not me! It took my MIL some time to get used to the scooter, but she was able to figure it out and enjoyed having her independence. Chris was great about staying with her and helping her to find the ramps.

I highly recommend EV Tours and Chris. Traveling with them as your guides will make your visit to Victoria the best it can be!

John gave us an outstanding tour which was incredibly informative, interesting, and scenic. We saw lots of Victoria, not just the historic downtown area but also neighborhoods, the university, and spectacular views of the area. The lunch stop was good, and the gardens were impressive. The two wineries were worth the visit, both for the wine and for the locations. John was so knowledgeable about the history, flora, and fauna of the area that we wish we could remember more of what he told us! Plus he was concerned about what we wanted to accomplish during our day and really worked at keeping the teenager involved--no small thing! Even she agreed that it was a great day. Thanks John for guiding us and Elizabeth for arranging our tour!

Elizabeth was a tour guide for the day and she did an incredible job. She took us to the Butchard Gardens, Brentwood Pub ( where we had the most amazing lunch), Fisherman's Wharf, Government House, Craigdarroch castle and drove by many beautiful areas in Victoria while providing stories and relevant history. This was a five hour private tour, but Elizabeth extended the time a no charge to make sure we got the opportunity to see the town. I definitely recommend EV tours and will us their business next visit.
