Booked a beautiful room on the waterfront in Victoria B.C. for our memorial trip for my father in law who recently passed. This was one of his favorite places to stay and it’s not hard to understand why. Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Located...More

We weren't interested in High Tea @ $95 per person but we did want to see the old interior of this famous hotel. If you go to the lobby where guest check in to back to the elevators up one level you can walk across...More

Hotel was pretty good but definatley dated. We were told at check in we had a view of the gardens but it looked down to the dumpsters. Oh well didn't spend a whole lot of time in the room anyways.

We just stopped in to window shop and enjoy the famous Empress Tea. It was unforgettable, though the waitress at our restaurant said the tea at Buchart Gardens is just as good.

Great old rehabbed hotel with convenient location. Really good rooms, shops, bar and restaurants. Sadly the old historic lobby has been replaced with a run of the mill modern glitzy new one. But you can still see the wonderful old architecture in the side lobby...More

Lovely building within sight of the harbour, steeped in history and well kept. The grounds are lovely. Step in for afternoon tea...pricey but fabulous.

The Empress no longer allows people into the main hotel unless you are a registered guest. This is very disappointing and against all hospitality rules. Shame on the Empress hotel. I will never recommend this hotel again

We came to Canada to see our friend coach the Harbour Cats baseball team and stayed at the Empress. The facilities were clean and inviting. The rooms were nice but the bathroom was tiny. The staff was very accommodating and made the stay extra nice....More

My family has been doing afternoon tea at the Empress for generations, and the last time I was able to was about 8 years ago, so I was very excited to be going back this past Canada Day. And... well... the tea itself was fine,...More

Enjoyed our tea although felt a bit like a number when we arrived (quite a wait even for our reservation!) Lovely classical setting.

Recommend that you take a cab from Ogden Point terminal, as you only have a few hours. Both facilities are very close together. Location is classified as the Inner Harbour of Victoria. Taxi driver should have no issues with... More

We specifically asked at Buchart Gardens and they said the flowers here bloom almost all year. Most places are wheelchair accessible, including Butchart Gardens.
