It's a nice place to spend 5 minutes walking. You don't have a lot of options to walk atound there. There are some clothes shopping (f*** expensive clothes) and a restaurant that I was afraid to look the menu... lol I am not that cheap...More

Many of the entries for this landmark/attraction are interesting. I suspect a lot of folks are kind of confused because there are two entries for The Empress on TripAdvisor. There’s this one, which is meant to focus on The Empress as a historical site and...More

We didn't go inside, but walked past. Beautiful building in the center of the town beckons royalty and commoners. (Prince William and Kate honeymooned there). Across from the harbor and on Government Street where all the shopping and action is, you will pass it whether...More

Worth a visit, at the least do a walk-by! Great views of the inner harbor, close to great walking, sightseeing, and shopping. High Tea always a treat.

Of course we had to go to Tea but we left the guys behind and only the girls went. We have been to Tea several times in different places but this was our first time in Canada and the Empress did not disappoint. The Ambience...More

The jewel of the harbour. The building is worth driving by especially at night. The entrance is quite spectacular.

Left quickly due to its popularity. Way too busy, almost like the Hotel del Coronado. We would never stay here. Came for drinks and maybe appies but too crowded.

Stopped in for after dinner drinks, Can not attest to the food but the atmosphere and architecture was great. Service was very good, prompt, friendly without being invasive. Not cheap, but, a step back into a more graceful period.

A gem to stay in or wander through as it rules the harbor and serves as the focal point of Victoria. One of those can't miss visual spots that you wouldn't want to miss.

Old building but the style falls short of the Parliament. What caught my attention is the old mailbox system which seems to be connected to the other floors.

Recommend that you take a cab from Ogden Point terminal, as you only have a few hours. Both facilities are very close together. Location is classified as the Inner Harbour of Victoria. Taxi driver should have no issues with... More

There are several Indian restaurants within walking distance, or a short cab ride. Two are: 1) the Sizzling Tandoor Restaurant and 2) the Varsha Indian Kitchen. Are they good? That's completely up to the diner's... More
