Ritzy place for some hot coffee on a cold day

Had wanted to come for High Tea but one web site said they were closed in January but that's not correct. Will try that next time. Coffee was good and service was impeccable.

You can visit this beautiful hotel, enjoy afternoon tea, or just walk around and enjoy. All the areas except rooms obviously are open to the public. If you like expensive boutiques this is the place.

We were anxious to stay at the Empress and get a look at the renovation to date. Rooms are lovely. Bathrooms are small, but very nice. Christmas eve we has room service and just as we were finishing dinner a knock at the door brought a bottle of Bailey's and a bag of cookies. Too cool!!! The next morning the... More

Walked through the Empress one am in July 2016. We were staying not too far away. Beautiful furnishings and chandeliers. A few nice shops as well. However, we just window shopped at them. We checked out the afternoon tea after we barely missed the one at Butchart Gardens, but it was more than we wanted to spend. Really beautiful gardens... More

While a great deal of the hotel isn't accessible by the non-lodging public, what is has a delightful beauty, including the china for sale in the gift shop. Tea anyone?

When in Victoria you should experience High Tea. It's the most you will most likely pay for lunch but a great experience. I went with three friends and stayed approx 2 hours. The tea room is beautiful as is the hotel. The service was extraordinary and I felt like royalty. I did notice couples, families, girlfriends and mothers and daughter... More

I was with a tour group and it included tea the The Empress. I was looking forward to it as I had experienced tea there a few years ago. The changes made to the "new look" by the new Vancouver business man that now owns the Empress left a sour taste. The light paint on the walls has taken away... More

We've had the pleasure of both touring through and staying at the Grand Old Lady of the Inner Harbour and have enjoyed both immensely. It's a gorgeous building that is being lovingly renovated and restored and is an absolute must for an overnight or weekend stay. Coming up next will be High Tea at the Empress, we're looking forward to... More

Located Right on the waterfront the Empress is a great place for tourists to stay. The food is quite good. High tea is great. Very busy though due to the large number of tourists.
