Christmas trees

Great time to look at Christmas trees done up for charity. You can stroll around and see some of the shops and all the new updates to the Empress.

By all standards, this should be a hotel well above all others. The decor is tremendous. Rooms are small and WAY overpriced, but that's the Empress. Unfortunately, our favorite item is the Christmas Tree displays, which have been moved to the Hudson Bay building, due to the construction. High Tea is an experience but be prepared to pay.

We were visiting the area and stopped by to see the Empress. We found a small dining area on the porch with a fire. We were delighted to be able to sit by the outdoor fire and have s'mores. What a wonderful idea and great little break from exploring Victoria in the cold. Love the new area.

We toured the Empress Hotel as we knew it was a bit of a landmark in Victoria. My friend suggested doing high tea but they no longer do that. However they do offer afternoon tea but at $75 per person we decided to skip it. It certainly is a beautiful old structure and I'm glad to have checked out.

Lots of changes to interior and some locals not real happy about it. We thought it was still pretty grand, but attempts to modernize may not please all.

We participated in a week long event at the Empress Hotel and Convention Center. The rooms were lovely with Fab views. Best of all our dog was more than welcome! Having our pet with us did not deter nor keep us from fully enjoying the Hotel. The convention center and seminar rooms were terrific. Plenty of room for all of... More

I love visiting the Empress when we are in Victoria. This was the first time that we were able to see the decorated Christmas trees that are in support of the children's hospital. It was a bit challenging try to find the way out as the main entrance is under renovation, however staff were very helpful.

It has been awhile since I stayed at The Empress, but this was truly a highlight. I'd been there for Afternoon Tea several times, but staying as a guest was a whole new world. I had the good fortune to stay on the Concierge Floor, which brought access to the lovely and well-furnished lounge overlooking the Inner Harbor. The buffet... More

We were not staying at the hotel, but were given a guided tour by a very helpful member of staff. The building itself dominates the Victoria Inner Harbour waterfront and is an icon of the city. It is very grand and has been maintained to give a feeling of old style luxury. The shop has some nice items but is... More

I'm very impressed with the service level and facility improvements this hotel has had. We were with our two young kids and were welcomed and treated with great care and attention. stayed on the 3rd floor, had gold level check in, and access to hospitality room...we would definitely book at this level next time...very impressive
