We wanted to take a tour and so we called and always got an answering machine. It took them 2 days to call back, just to learn that they were booked and could take us in the day that we were leaving. Either plan ahead and take the risk of doing a sidecar visit under the rain or hopeto get lucky and that they will answer promptly and and be able to accomodate you.

Pierre-Sylvie thanks for that feedback. Our first negative review in our four years of operation. No deception involved. Our cell carrier was notified of our inability to access several booking messages while out of country, but unfortunately too late as we did not get your inquiry even though you were given the opportunity to leave booking messages. Sorry you were let down. Join us another time for a 50% saving. Thanks again Sidecar Vic

I am always on the look out for a novel way to tour an area. I was impressed with the reviews of Sidecar Victoria and emailed them for more information. There followed a very pleasant interaction from the initial email to the actual tour. What a wonderful way to spend the day. I have never been on a motorcycle or in a sidecar but as soon as Kevin, our guide, showed up and began telling us about the planned day, I was at ease and enthusiastic. The bike's sidecar was surprisingly comfortable and with the provided blanket and jacket was toasty warm too. We took a ferry to Salt Spring Island and slowly toured the island letting the wind rush by us and listened to the sounds of nature.......birds, ocean waves, and rustling leaves. A stop at a cheese factory and a cider house rounded out the trip.

What a great day! From beginning to end, we had a wonderful time with Kevin. He was very happy to customise the trip to our needs. We toured all over the area chatting while driving which was great. He was full of interesting information. We felt completely safe in his hands and were very happy to go where he took us. Very friendly and careful driver who loves to share the beauty of his city. Highly recommended.

We visited Victoria on a cruise ship in the evening. Since the sun would be setting, we wanted to see Victoria in both daylight and nightlight. This tour was a delightful way to see Victoria. We were met by our driver Dave at the Breakwater Cafe which was near the end of the pier. The sidecar only holds one person, so I chose the sidecar and let my husband ride on the back of the motorcycle behind Dave. The cycle was well set up with two grab bars so that my husband did not have to hold on to Dave! Warning, as the evening progressed it did get quite chilly. Dave had a blanket for the sidecar (nice), but my husband got quite cold with no gloves and a light jacket. I would suggest to anyone touring in the evening to bring gloves. We visited in September so keep that in mind.

The tour was perfectly timed out to see the sights at the best sunlight. We arrived at the most panoramic sight at just the right sunset. Dave gave us information about the stops, but while we were riding, it was difficult to talk.

I am so glad we chose this tour as a great way to see everything up close.

Dave says a big thank you and we do too. We got caught on one of the first days of our shoulder season when the evenings are cooling off. If you come touring with us again we will have electric vests for you to plug in and keep toasty, along with some gloves for you both to wear. Thanks a bunch

From my first encounter with Sidecar Victoria I was pleased. Via email, they helped me not only book our tour but also answered some logistical questions for me so I could plan our ferry times which was over and above in my opinion. Our guide, Kevin, was great. Picked us up at our B&B right on time. Answered our questions and tailored our tour to be sure we saw what we wanted to before departing the island. We booked the longest tour and he drove us to Butchert Gardens as well as around back roads so we weren't just on the highway. We went along Dallas Road for great views of the coastline. It was truly a pleasure getting to know him as well as hearing more about the island. Highly recommend if you are looking for a fun way to see the island.

Thanks Lynn, Kevin is beaming ear to ear. He says thank you both for breaking out of the normal routine and trundling into the countryside with him on one of our favourite tours. Come back soon

We were picked up outside our hotel by Dave & Kevin in two fantastic Soviet retro bikes & side cars. Our two teenage boys surprising both went for the sidecar option first which allowed Mum & Dad to ride pillion, by the end of the tour both parents were unsurprisingly in the sidecars.
We had only one full day in Victoria so the Sidecar allowed us to view all the major attractions, with just the right level of description from Dave & Kevin to keep us all interested. I had spoken to Jay at the base a few times to get his advice on what to see with my boys and his recommendations worked out great.
This was a real highlight of our trip it was prue fun

Dave, my adventure guide and sidecar driver, picked me up at the seaplane terminal when I arrived to Victoria from Seattle on Kenmore Air. Jay, the owner of Sidecar Victoria was also there with another brand new Ural sidecar. We quickly dropped off my luggage at my hotel and went on a delightful two-hour tour of Victoria. Retro vintage style motorcycle sidecars are so much fun! They make everyone smile. I persuaded Jay to take me on a much longer tour to Port Hardy hundreds of kilometers away to fly a Grumman Goose from the 1930s and ‘40s. He agreed and we went on a wonderful, amazing, THREE-DAY journey. If you’re interested in antique amphibious flying boats, the last of their kind in the world, the classiest, most fun way to arrive to Pacific Coastal Airlines is with James “Jay” Gillespie and his epic sidecars. We saw many wonderful sights of Vancouver Island, including the majestic ancient trees of Cathedral Grove, the goats on the roof at Coombs Old Country Market, and enjoyed fine, fresh, local seafood at stops along the way.

We found this Sidecar Victoria tour on Trip Advisor and completed the booking form on Sidecar Victoria tour website and then spike with James "Jay" Gillespie to book it. Our biker was his associate Dave who took us on a Ural bike and sidecar on a wonderful and wide ranging tour. He drove safely and narrated the tour and stopped several times for us to stretch out and shoot photos. It was a great tour and we highly recommend it. They provided the helmets which were very comfortable.

Our afternoon with Jay on the Sidecar Tour was a highlight of our whole trip to B.C.

We were only in Victoria for 1.5 days and this was a great way to learn about the area whilst having fun - Jay is a terrific guide and lovely, funny guy and made us feel at ease and comfortable.

It was a cloudy day but he made sure we had fun and saw as much as possible on ur two hour ride.

Would highly recommend!!
