The Two of us had a fun 2 hours with Brynne on the “ Castles, Hoods and Legends” bike tour. (The rain showed up at the start but Brynne provided rain capes). Brynne made this a very interesting and funny tour with her awesome personality. Bikes in great shape. Most of the tour on flat ground. On city roads without bike lanes for a big part of the ride but always felt safe. There is a lot of quiet neighborhood biking too. Thanks Brynne!

We did not do a tour but instead decided to rent bikes and follow our own route. A staff member helped us decide our route on a map they provided, going through Chinatown and coming down and returning along the water. Victoria has many bike lanes, making it easy to navigate the city. Staff were very helpful in general, adjusting the bikes to our needs. I would strongly recommend this shop whether you are interested in a tour or just renting bikes to enjoy on your own.

We had a blast on this tour and highly recommend you fit this into your itinerary. We saw parts of Victoria we never would have found on our own and learned about the fascinating history of Victoria from Mike our very knowledgeable and fun guide. It’s an easy bike ride so don’t hesitate even if you’re not a big bike rider.

Victoria, British Columbia is filled with lush forests and greenery, well maintained cycle paths along the coast and dream houses galore. Touring the city by bike is a great option –provided that the bike is in good operating condition. My friend and I rented e-bikes for the Apple Cider Tour (which is no longer listed as a tour option), unfortunately the electrical power on one bike was completely inoperable and the other bike functioned with reduced power. The instructor’s advice throughout the tour to both of us was to “change gears”. Though there were rest beaks, the overall ride distance was considerably longer than what we were told initially which was made worse by the fact that the bikes had no power despite showing as having full battery life.
As we neared our destination I asked what the Plan B was, in case someone was injured or fatigued and unable to cycle back to the store. Our instructor advised that he would simply call the store and they would send a van to pick us up and carry the bikes too.
After lunch we switched bikes – the instructor took the bike with the broken battery, and began riding back to the store. Since our original bikes had not been working we were just too exhausted and could not cycle any further. The instructor began making phone calls and I thought help was on the way. Instead, we walked our bikes to a nearby coffee shop – he called a taxi for us. My friend and I returned to the store at our own expense, approximately $45. You need to know that there is no Plan B, no rescue van and apparently no refunds for renting broken bikes.

Our friends from Toronto rented e-bikes in July so they could join us on a ride from Victoria to Sidney. En route, the handle bars on one e-bike suddenly rolled forward, pitching our friend onto the crossbar. Luckily he managed to stay upright and we were on a quiet road. We had a tool and secured the handlebars for the rest of the ride. When our friends returned the bikes, the response of fellow in the shop was "That's unfortunate." No inquiry as to whether our friend was all right, and no offer to refund the rental fee, although clearly the bike left the shop in an unsafe condition that could have resulted in a much more tragic outcome. Beware.

Checkin and checkout process was quick and efficient. Bikes were well fitted and worked well. We are repeat customers and would recommend this company for anyone interested in eating e-bikes. Prices are reasonable.

Great experience. Rented e-bikes. Junior was very helpful in showing us how to use the technology and making sure the seat levels were high enough. Had a great time riding the Galloping Goose and Lochside trails. Had an unfortunate flat tire, but they came to where we were and exchanged the bike with flat tire for a new one. We were able to continue. One of the staff told us about a beautiful site we had never heard of in the typical tourist info.

We had contacted the company directly to find out which of their bikes and tours would suit us best. Jordan could not have been more helpful and through a short email exchange we settled on bikes and a self guided tour on the coastal bike path.
The bikes were top notch, we were given an excellent safety and instruction briefing, along with helmets and padlocks and a map showing out route. Which was glorious and not somewhere I think we would have found had we not been on our bikes. The company do a guided tour there too if you’d prefer. An excellent activity with excellent service.

Whether you are an experienced biker or a novice, The Pedaler is the perfect addition to any trip to Victoria. My friends had suggested renting bikes and I was a little hesitant but Richard at the Pedaler was fantastic. He made sure our bikes fit our frames, gave suggestions as where to go as well as approximate time frames for each option. Victoria is set up very well for bikers, with bike lanes and good signage and we felt safe and sure as to our route. The shop is also centrally located near the Parliament buildings.

Outstanding bike rental location in Victoria. We were give fantastic service, advice, and great equipment. We biked for 2 1/2 hours with e-bikes. Great experience and will do it again when we return. Highly recommend this location.

I don't see an email link on your website and the only time listed for the "design your own tour" is 9am. Our ship comes into port at 1pm on Sunday, July 26th, 2015. Can I do a design my own tour to start at 2pm? If not, is it possible to make it in time from the cruise port to a tour at 1:30pm? Thanks, Sandy

There is an email icon on the main page at the bottom under our cycling buddy image but I can understand how this could be missed. We need to communicate with customers before confirming a private custom tour to make sure we can deliver the best possible tour for you. Once we communicate and understand what kind of tour you would like, your desired departure time, and the number of guests, you then reserve the tour online and we all look forward to a fun bicycle tour. We can depart at 2pm to accommodate your arrival time. I look forward to hearing from you by email or phone (I cannot include an email address in this response - TripAdvisor rules)!
