They have put up a fence all along the edge of which made me feel very secure. You can also walk down on the huge concrete blocks. Very interesting on how they built it. The story is there when you enter. Catch rock cod, salmon, see otters.Every one acknowledges you.

This is a free activity for all ages and is handicap friendly. The new railings make it very safe and there are benches at the lighthouse, at the end. You might see otters, seals and also scuba divers, or cruise ships entering the harbour.

Visited here with the wind blowing down the Straits of Juan de Fuca at a steady 60 km/hr, clearing skies. Lots of fun walking the breakwater (which is about 875m long) trying unsuccessfully to avoid salt spray, watching a cruise ship try to maneuver into dock. En route from Mile 0 to Fisherman's wharf along the waterfront walkways. Breakwater Bistro... More

We did a morning walk on the breakwater & it was beautiful! It's busy but most people walk at a decent pace. I'd recommend it!

This is located at the end of the harbour facing open waters towards Washington state, possibly visible on a clear day. The Black Ball Victoria-Washington ferry plies in front with two round trips each day At sunset, it is icing on the cake to catch the nice view at dusk.

There's nothing much to see except the long walk to the lighthouse. It's peaceful and it will help you think. It's also windy so make sure to bundle up. The bay was nice and calm and the weather was cloudy when we were there. It's a relaxing walk.

The breakwater is a great place to extend your walk while walking the Dallas Road route. I have witness exhibits along the breakwater, which make you slow down and look around you at the majestic beauty of the area around you and the North Olympic Mountains across the Strait of Juan de Fuca

Park your car on Dallas Road and make your way to the breakwater. About a 20 minute walk to the end of it, always a nice breeze blowing in the summer time to cool you down. Winter time can be a bit blustery, but if you like the roar of the ocean and the feel of spindrift on your face... More

I had to meet a cruise ship here, and had a few hours to wait. The people were friendly, the view is epic, so peaceful.
