Really Big and lots of poles. This was a beautiful park with a lot of Totem poles. Some were absolutely huge! The tops of some like I have never seen before,..huge wide wingspans. Beautiful and artistic, definitely a great find as we walked by on our walkin g tour..

Conveniently located next to the Royal Museum, Thunderbird Park is a must see! It boasts beautiful totem poles of all shapes and colors; no two are exactly alike. The magnificent totem poles are enormous, colorful, and beautifully carved. It’s definitely worth a visit, or at least a walk by the grounds.

A great little park next to the Royal BC Museum. Lots of Totems. In the summer you can often watch Native carvers working on a project.

Very little to see. I was not at all impressed by the very few totem poles I saw. I don't recommend seeking out this park, but if you are in the area it's worth the five minutes it will take you to stroll around the poles. It would have been nice if there had been some plaques or other information available so you'd know what you were looking at.

Totem Poles with hand carved faces look down at you as you stand amongst very old history. Each carved face or animal represents a story. This area of importance is just a glimpse into the world of the First Peoples. Needs to be made larger and to be given a update. Near to busy road and not in a nice park. Part of BC Museum.

Thunderbird Park is a stunning historical sight to see in downtown Victoria, and it's still open, although a warning to visitors that the Royal BC Museum will be "undertaking maintenance" on the collection and the fencing may upset some people. You can still have full-enjoyment, just not as up close and personal as before.

A piece of the Indian culture in BC. Beautifully kept. It is next to the BC museum and adds to the beauty of the city as well as preserving it's history.

This beautiful park is centrally located right in the center of the city, near the Empress Hotel, the Legislature, Inner Harbor and IMAX Theatre / Museum. Take your camera for some wonderful images especially on a foggy day! Visit the Inner Harbour afterwards!

Check out the totem poles in the park and the colourful painted wall of native art. Worth visiting if you are in the area

A true cultural beauty with wood resplendently crafted by master craftsmen that bring an intrinsic native heritage to life thru murals and artistry of a bygone era and culture that once permeated this proud and colourful land...they bring a quality of story telling seldom found with such beauty and clarity of goals..they are not just master crafters but master story tellers as well that keep us enthralled with the picturesque & colourful pictorials...it is a must see of how this race of people perpetuate their society by means of artistic endeavours...

Is the totem pole area visible in the evening? We will be arriving on a cruise ship in August at 7pm. Not sure if we will be able to see them.

The sun should still be up at 7pm in August. I think it will be light quite late. The totem park is small, next to the museum
