We did the 8 day tour in July 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed the entire tour. We just (July ‘18) spent a week in the Victoria area for a wedding and revisited many of the sites from our bike tour. We are astounded how well our bike tour was planned. We saw all the highlights and avoided the really ugly traffic. Thanks again to CycleTreks for the great experience and memories.

Very friendly and gave good tips on where to ride in the short time I had before I had to take a flight out on a Sea Plane. The bike was maintained well and rode nicely. Great experience and I will definitely be back.

My husband and I were looking for an organized tour to introduce me (a casual biker) to the glories of multi-day biking (he's done trips on his own). I was looking for something with a lot of good perks that would keep me pedaling even if it was really hard! CycleTreks 5-day Gulf Island's tour did that and more. We arrived in Victoria, BC a few days in advance and owner "Andrew" went out of his way to set up one of his bikes with my pedals, saddle and added some other extras I requested - he let us go out on a ride on our own for a few hours so I could get a feel for the bike. It was a great way to get going feeling confident. We then spent five days touring the Saanitch Peninsula, 3 different Gulf Islands and a bit of Vancouver Island on the Trans Canada trail. Every day had a mix of cycling and breaks for amazing lunches and some swimming, winery visits and some sightseeing and ferry rides. Some challenging hills for me - but they weren't super long and lots of encouragement along the way. Terrain was beautiful - some roads, some gravel trails. Accommodations and food were stellar - an amazing B&B, a lovely high end resort and places with gorgeous views. Food was great - everything always arranged in advance and paid for with lots of choices. The "bests" - owner Andrew - funny, full of stories, always going above and beyond, a great host; Robert - our super daily biking guide who was supportive, very knowledgeable, and always kept us speculating about the next activity! Connie - the ultimate behind the scenes organizer! Overall a great trip a really nice group of like-minded folks on the tour. A great introduction to bike touring!

Really fun tour, we did it with another Australian couple, totally unplanned. Trent, our tour guide was great, waiting patiently on hills, as well as sharing with us his knowledge of Victoria. My favourite moment was meeting the seals. I can highly recommend this tour

Cycle Treks Victoria is a world class cycle touring operation, here is why. Andrew, the owner and often your guide, grew up on Vancouver Island and he knows where all the hidden treasures of the island’s natural wonders, history, and folklore are hidden. He shares his knowledge of the island with you with stories about discovery, early people, natural wonders, and their origins. The biking routes take you on trails that were once the right-of-way of island trains with historic trestles and grades that are shallow and easy through logging country and rain forests as well as on roadways with steep climbs and descents. Along the way you will be treated to picture card vistas of the Olympic Mountains across the straits of Juan de Fuca. Robert who rides with you on most days is every bit as knowledgeable and helpful as Andrew, stopping at each special site with information about their significance and role in the island’s history. It is hard to imagine a more perfect combination of host and guide. Each night the accommodations are as interesting as the ride, and the meals are anything you want at often the best eatery nearby. And if there are no fine eateries nearby then everyone gets into the sag wagon for a trip to a memorable eatery within driving distance – always worth the wait. In addition to educational tutorials on every historic or just plain interesting site along the cycleway, your hosts are constantly attentive to your abilities for the hard climbs and your timidities for any steep descent, no level of skill or cycling ability is outside their range. A great cycleway journey must be challenging, rewarding and fun. On every measure the journey’s offered by Cycle Treks Victoria meet and exceed expectations. We have cycle toured in Europe and in north America and this tour is easily one of the very best. Jim & Chris Half Moon Bay, CA
