Well worth visiting to find out about BC history and the First Nation languages and people. We spent 4 hours in the museum and really enjoyed the mammoth exhibition. Lots of interactive displays for the kids and the journey through Canadian history set out as...More

Anyone either visiting Victoria or an area resident that misses taking in this exhibit will lose out. It is so well done, so informative and so pleasing to see for young an old. It's at the Royal Museum until the end of December so don't...More

We visited the Royal BC Museum while on holiday with our 8 year old son. Spent a morning there visiting the exhibits. Lots to keep us all interested - the museum is very child-friendly with lots of "hands-on" displays. We especially enjoyed the mammoths section.

Not on par with the great NYC or DC museums but a good history and enjoyable experience for my family over a broad range of ages.

The exhibits are well done, good flow, nice explanations, fabulous for kids and families. Fair warning though - lining up to see the IMAX can be tiring and a bit like standing in a very crowded bus for longer than you want.

This is a beautiful museum with changing exhibits. Lots of different kinds of things going on at various times. The languages exhibit is interactive and very important to see. Giant Mammoths exhibit was fantastic.

The exhibits are thoughtfully presented. I only hope there is more time to go through everything. The Woolly Mammoth exhibit is captivating, while the old town is like you travelled back in time... Make sure you go early, and take a break in the middle...More

One of the top museums in North America. Hear the languages of the First Nations people and feel the vitality of the West Coast of Canada as you enter into the realm of this museum. Children ove it.

We got to go to Victoria on vacation this summer and had the opportunity to visit the museum. I particularly likes the wooly mammoth exhibit.

No they are not. There are not many "pet" appropriate areas for animals in the city centre. Lots in the surrounding municipalities.
