About
Just around the corner from Victoria's Inner Harbour, Fisherman's Wharf is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. This unique marine destination offers food kiosks, unique shops and eco-tour adventures in the heart of the working harbour. Wander down the docks with your lunch, buy seafood fresh off the boat, see moored pleasure vessels and float homes, and watch as fishing vessels unload their wares.

There are a few evening eateries close by & a wine shop 3 streets away so no issues with finding cooked food. The quaint houseboats are fascinating & staying on one is an interesting experience when the floor moves beneath your feet or is that after a few wines? Use the water taxi 🚕 to the main dock for C$7 each - a bargain.Visited March 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten March 12, 2020
- CanucksonthelooseVictoria, Canada726 contributionsGreat for take-out food during CoViD-19 shutdown. If you enjoy the view of colourful floating homes, pleasure boats and the skyline of Vic West across the calm waters leading to the Inner Harbour, come here. The Wharf is touristy but during pandemic times, it is not crowded and very pleasant on a sunny day. There are social distancing measures in place like the fellow directing pedestrian traffic on the footbridge so people stay far apart and at least 5 very different eateries there offering take-out. There was also a gift shop open when we were there on the weekend. Plus one washroom available for Wharf patrons. Patrons are encouraged to get their food and go to avoid crowding. On a regular non-pandemic day, I would recommend an hour here max as it is rather small but the walk to here from David Foster Way and the nearby Fisherman's Wharf Park makes the visit worthwhile. Pay parking lot at the Wharf but free street parking a few streets over.Visited May 2020Written May 28, 2020
- armandos1969Vancouver, Canada126 contributionsPretty little walkThis is a pretty little place to visit. It wasn’t very busy but I can imagine it’s quite crowded in warmer weather. There are several choices for food and there’s a little bit of shopping. The colorful floating homes add to the atmosphere. Worth the visit.Visited March 2022Traveled with familyWritten March 13, 2022

We've been to a few Fisherman's Wharfs in the States so we thought we would visit this one while we were in Victoria and that the fish and chips here were good.
Our schedule was pretty tight and couldn't make it during lunch time so we came one evening and found that you need to pay for parking. It was just a bit after 6pm, we noticed that there weren't many vehicles parked, so before we pay for parking, I asked my husband to walk down to the wharf to check it out. He came back saying the restaurants close at 6pm. Then we left.
We came back the next evening before 6pm. We didn't park at the pay parking lot, we parked on the street on Superior Street.
Fisherman's Wharf is quite small with a few floating houses and restaurants. We found it quite disappointing. We walked around to see the menus of the different restaurants there and finally we chose to try The Fish Store. Maybe it was October so restaurants close early, nothing much happening, plus CoVid. The sky started to turn dark while we were eating and turned cold too.
I think Spring and Summer time would be more suitable to visit this place, but still think it's quite small......not too exciting!

Fisherman's Wharf has always been one of our go to places on a nice, sunny summer day. Beautiful, peaceful location with amazing views over the waters. A multitude of great little eateries with reasonable prices and friendly people. You can also purchase live crab and lobster from the Hi Gear boat during the season at excellent prices. A number of beautiful, colorful and interesting floating homes along one side are also very interesting to see.

It’s a small area, but if you are staying close it’s worth a detour to see the colourful homes and maybe get an ice cream or fish and chips. These are peoples homes so it’s not really a place to linger; about 30 mins unless you stop for food. You can add this to a stroll around to the breakwater.

This is a nice place if you are a non vegetarian and sea food lover .
The restaurant has a great ambience of typical Goan Picturesque.
You won't be disappointed with the non vegetarian menu.
With the. Ambience of typical beach resort and open seating the best time to be here is during the monsoons.
You might expect a waiting time of close to 15-20 minutes if you are trying for weekend.
Overall a great experience and a good staff with on time service on the orders.

While we were in Victoria we wanted to make sure we stopped in at Fisherman's Wharf. Parking was available - paid parking. Sadly not a lot was open at this time. However, it was nice to walk around - it certainly wasn't crowded, and the floating homes were wonderful and colourful!! I am sure a visit in warmer climates would be a totally different experience.

When I think of Victoria - I think of this place. Our son, who was out there a few years, took us here ! WE were hooked, and you will be too.
It is a pleasant place where there is a variety of food but we always have seafood and then we wonder to the building next door for there excellent coffee.
Because it can be busy, parking is sometimes an issue. Be ready for it - although a walk, it isn't too far from the Parliament Building district of Victoria.

This is a very quaint little community, but unfortunately all the shops in the area are closed in the winter months. The private residences are very quaint, but you have to be respectful of their private property. We happened to get into a conversation with a local resident who even went as far as to invite inside their home to see what a house in the community looked like. It’s a nice place to visit, but it’s better in season.

We usually like to eat on Fisherman’s Wharf but this visit it was very crowded, not much social distancing being practiced. People were not taking turns using the access ramps as was posted. Needed to pull out the face masks and did not stay.

This is a tourist area with expensive parking and restaurants. There are a lot of fishing boats to look at. For one piece fish and chips the going rate is $18 and $22 for two pieces cod. It’s not really worth a visit as there are less busy marinas on the island.

We went on a rainy, cold Autumn day which did not lend to the best experience. We arrived by Water Taxi which provided a great view from a different perspective. We had wanted to eat fish and chips while there but it was just too cold and all the dining was outdoors. It's a cute area and worth exploring.

It is highly perishable food which needs proper handling and preservation if it is to have a long shelf life and retain a desirable quality and nutritional value

It's about a 5 block walk. All flat but a good 15 minutes. Might be too far for your Mom
although there are many benches to stop and rest in between or you can take a Kabuki cab ( bicycle with trailer)

My husband and I will be in Victoria June 10-12; does anyone know of a great place to stay at Fisherman's Wharf? We wanted to stay at a floating B&B.
Thanks!

When we were there, it looked like all the floating housing was privately owned.
