The manicure and pedicure was luxuriously experienced in this lovely environment and friendly staff. The experience was pure luxury and high quality products made this manicure last for weeks longer than other times in other spas in Victoria

I took great care to book a RMT massage with a female in advance to be able to ferry over from Pender Island and get home in a timely fashion. Spa Magnolia confirmed me the day before. Day of on the ferry going to Victoria I got canceled due to RMT getting the flu. Ok. So now what? I was offered a male massage therapist for free. I was not interested in that as my comfort zone all round was not there. I just want my $45 ferry costs back. Paula the manager said NO. She said I had to walk out of my comfort zone and have a male therapist that was “almost “ able to be registered. I repeated that I only EVER used RMTS always. She refused to pay my ferry costs which was $80 cheaper than the free massage by a male massage therapist. It was not about the money but all about the customer service factor. Paula would not budge and told me it was about the money. Well Paula if you only knew what you did by your unprofessional tone, offer and insistence that I do what you say and settle for everything that does not make a spa visit very relaxing. It could have been so so simple with just a small gesture to make a customer rebook. I am truly appalled by any manager talking to a potential repeat customer that way. Time to sharpen those basic customer service skills Spa Magnolia.

The Spa Magnolia's first priority is our guests, our customer service has been a top focus for over 15 years. One of our least favourite tasks is informing customers a practitioner they are booked with is ill, we understand these types of unexpected changes can result in disappointment. We do, however, respect not spreading viruses to our guests since we are in such close proximity to them. Whenever we have to make changes we offer our guests an incentive to either still come in on the day or for a future visit. My receptionist does not deserve to hear profanities nor do I as it makes coming to a resolution very difficult. We wish you the best finding alternative RMT services in the Victoria area.

I'll start with the bad experience. During our visit to the spa my sister and I both enjoyed the robes. After enquiring with the Spa's receptionist, I went over to the hotel to purchase two. When I asked if they had the robes that were of the 'more generous' size (loved the way they phrased that at the spa), I was told coldly and blankly that those were not sold in the hotel. I asked if there was another way I could purchase one, perhaps online. Like a robot she said exactly the same thing as before with a cold, hard stare. It would have been nice if she could have been at all helpful, perhaps with a brand name or even polite would have been an improvement.

On to the good experience - the Spa! I'm in Victoria visiting family and now that the kids are older I thought it would be nice to do something just for my sister and myself. We were greeted and immediately taken to change into large fluffy robes. We were given lockers with keys to leave our belongings and hang our clothes. We were then escorted to the lounge where we completed forms and waited for our service providers. A fountain and calming music created pleasant background noise. Tea and water were available and a sample of aroma therapies. My provider greeted me warmly and made me feel at ease. The treatment room was warm and dimly lit, very peaceful. I had the Spa Magnolia Signature treatment. I appreciated that the tub was located in the same room for rinsing after the scrub. The hydrotherapy jets were stimulating and relaxing. The massage after was excellent and comparable to massages I've had for therapy with LMTs. I was so pleased at this point I forgot about the facial! The scent of the facial product, tranquility, was wonderful. Long into the evening I received positive comments on the delicate scent when greeting and hugging family members. My sister had a massage and pedicure. She said she fell asleep during the pedicure - that is amazingly gentle. My sister surprised me at the end by treating me to my spa experience, another reason I really wanted to get her a robe. I would go back to the spa, probably avoid the hotel on future visits.

For a pedicure, I'd recommend go somewhere else. The colour I wanted was already in use and they only had one bottle, they said we can share the colour, but will have to skip the massage or footwork. Usually when you get a pedicure they scrub your feet smooth with various tools, here they only used a file, and after the pedicure.. I could really go for a pedicure. There's no difference. The polish is so thin, (must be 1 coat max.) I can see right through it. It's light pink. Shouldn't be see through. It's so bad I WILL have to paint my own toes before I wear sandals I public. And the biggest reason why in so upset among like 10 disappointments is that it cost me $90 with tax and tip. For a 1/2 hour crap pedicure? Sorry but this is outrageous! DONT GO!

Hello Tiffany, Thank you for your feedback, The Spa Magnolia is committed to providing an exemplary experience for all of our guests. Our pedicures are one hour in length, yours was shortened due to being late for the appointment time booked, we try our best to do what can be done in the length of time remaining and still respect our next client's start time. Our foot files are made with high-quality stainless steel, this uniquely designed Professional Pedicure file with multi-directional grit will not shred skin, is easy to clean and can be sterilized with our autoclave ensuring the strictest standards are adhered to. The polish colour chosen was a light pearlized pink which does provide a sheer finish. I welcome you to join us again and experience the full hour service which I am confident would exceed your expectations. Warmest regards, Paula Veenema Owner

I'm very fortunate to be able to have regular massage therapy. I went to the Spa Magnolia (At the Magnolia Hotel) in Victoria, BC today and WOW, what an experience.

From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with a smile, everything was Spotless and Super Clean. The lounge room was beautiful and the bathrobes were super fluffy.

My massage was with Jill (RMT) and she was AMAZING. I prefer deeper massages and I was extremely pleased. Jill gave me the best massage I've ever had and I am very pleased.

I will certainly return as the experience was fantastic. My shoulder and lower back pains are relieved and I feel great !

Thank you Jill and Spa Magnolia, you've made my day !

We were staying at the Magnolia Hotel and reserved facials prior to our arrival. I have had facials around the globe and this was truly the best. The spa is relatively small within a beautifully renovated historical building. Although the change room and lounge are a bit tight, they are both perfectly equipped. Every room in the spa is peacefully decorated and very well done. We had our facials in the shared room, although it was so beautifully laid out that we still retained privacy. The fellow who did my facial was just wonderful, gently massaging in between steps. My daughter loved her facial and felt it rivaled the Westin spa in Victoria. At the end of the facials we were presented with orange infused water. this is easily one of the best choreographed spa experiences I have had. Very luxurious and very thoughtful. We definitely will return!

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the vibe at the spa. While I did enjoy the relaxation massage I think I might try a therapeutic treatment next time for a deeper muscle massage.

Loved this hotel. Staying there for 5 nights, I was made to feel comfortable and welcomed. The front desk staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, beautifully decorated, and the bed was so comfortable. The walls were a little bit thin (I could hear the alarm clock going off from my neighbour, as well as the toilet seat being slammed down), but overall it was a great stay.

Since I stayed for so long, I was provided with complimentary Continental Breakfast cards. The hotel restaurant is convenient, but the food was nothing special. For my last morning in the city, I went to the little Cafe across the street, which has outdoor seating, to enjoy the morning sun.

If I ever visit Victoria again, I'll be staying at this hotel for sure!

My husband and I planned this spa visit well in advance and were looking forward to it for months. We did the Embrace package in a couple's room. The package includes a facial, pedicure and massage. The facial was brief. The massage was not great. My husband felt like it was a skin massage instead...muscles still need a real massage. My pedicure was fine but the therapist left the chair sticking out from the massage table so I messed up three toes. My husband needs another pedicure. He has dirt beneath his toe nails still. Apparently cleaning under the nails is not included. Aside from that I find it odd that the services were intermingled...not completed before another one started. The pedicure was done on the massage table. The receptionist was very nice. She allowed us to store luggage and called a cab fir us.

Thank you for providing your feedback regarding your experience with us, I promptly resolved this with you personally within 24hours over the phone. We apologize your service provider was not able to fully remove the entire amount of dirt under your husbands toenails, we allocate one hour for the pedicure portion of the Embrace Package. The package includes a Relaxation Massage which is a light to medium pressure, we recommend requesting an RMT for deep tissue work, we have RMT's available daily who can also provide receipts for Extended Health Care Benefits should you be eligible. The Spa Magnolia continually strives to provide excellence in quality of service and attention to detail.

best spa in victoria! Very professional, polite, knowledgeable staff. These people are passionate about what they do, truly the best of the best. The spa it self is very friendly, warm and relaxing place. A lot of attention has gone into the decor to create a relaxing soothing space. This is my go to place for total relaxation.
