- deRhamnous69 contributionsYou went to Miniature World?! I love Miniature World! What do you do when you have important family guests coming and it’s raining? Take them to Miniature World! Forget staring at screens, this is the real stuff. Tiny scale dioramas beautifully made. Loads of them. People chat and bond over these. Dolls houses too. When I came out, it was like I’d been in a strange movie. When people asked what I’d done at the weekend their responses were “Miniature World?! Oh I love Miniature World! Spend 90 mins or more just take out of your own head and immersed somewhere else.Visited March 2023Traveled with familyWritten March 22, 2023

- Tina19 contributionsWe were amazed at how good this place was.Fantastic place, saw the brochure but we were all amazed at how good this place was. The quality of the builds and the sheer volume of displays was outstanding. There was such a massive range of subjects, space travel, Shakespeare, fairy tales, London, Toronto, Canadian Towns, railways. Our Grandchildren aged 6 and 9 absolutely loved it, they were so good excited and charged around shouting "Look at this", there was a surprise around every corner. Great for adults as well as children. A must do if you're visiting Victoria.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 1, 2023
- Lisa RMarysville, Washington16 contributionsAwesome! We even returned a second time! This is a must see in Victoria! This awesome displays, puts history, and also fairytales, to life. So much attention to detail! Even one of the dollhouses has a tv, that turns on! There are train sets that have day and night changes, airplanes and cars that move at the push of a button, war scenes, a miniature woodworking mill, miniature carnival and circus, and much more! My teen son, who’s on the spectrum, loved this. The lighting and real life depictions, are so awesome to see! I would highly recommend this! It’s worth the price!Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 18, 2023

If you are visiting the city with kids then you should consider visiting this museum. Some of the displays have buttons to push that make miniatures move and make it more interesting for kids. Takes only an hour and half to see the entire exhibit and see different scenes from different eras.

I haven't been here is years! My wife and kids have never been. We ended our Xmas staycation here at Miniature World and it did not disappoint. It is my fav attraction in Victoria. They were very COVID-19 prepared. You must bring your own mask, Max 6 people in at a time and they supply you with sanitizer and gloves (even size small for the kids) because there are buttons all over the place to make airplane propellers spin, lights go off and on, trains and cars move, etc. My kids (aged 2.5 and 4.5) LOVED that part. The attention to detail is incredible. Luckily my kids missed some of the more gruesome scenes. Look closely and you can see some...not so kid friendly stuff, but really I think most kids would not notice. Ultimately it's still a great way to spend some family time.

It was a fun little museum. My kid had lot of fun pressing the buttons to see see miniature figurines move and learned about history at the same time. There was a bit of a line up as they only allowed so many people in and had to keep a distance between groups. We waited about half an hour which wasn't bad. Gloves were required and provided at the door.

Our kids and grandkids have visited this exhibit and we felt it was time that we did. The dedication and work that went into this exhibit is mind boggling! The detail and scale of all the models was outstanding. Lots of different themes from the future to the days of knights. War exhibits from
different centuries, fairy tales and even a working saw mill which was actually my favourite.
Lots of interactive displays and good narrative descriptions. What a joy it was spending time in this exhibit.

I was concerned with the $20 per person price tag that we might be disappointed, but this was incredible! My three year old loved all the interactive buttons she got to push to make trains move, drawbridges lower, etc. I could have spent all day inside! The detail and variety was amazing.

This place is overpriced, so expensive just to see some of manufacturers which are old, dusty and visible fake. There are others places like this where the manufacturers has high quality for sure. It’s an enjoyable visit only if you have children because they can have fun there exploring and visiting around. Not worth it. Not recommended at all.

I was utterly enchanted by miniature world and already regret not spending longer in there. The amount of detail on the models within is genuinely incredible as is the frozen in time 70s kitsch of the whole museum. Easily Victoria's best kept secret.

This is a place for model enthusiasts of all sorts to gawk and sigh with delight. The spectrum of displays is amazing. We had two railroad model enthusiasts take around 3 hours to peruse the collections and they liked all.

Although the 1st part, Space, looks a bit unreal, the remaining are pretty detailed and realistic. It features world war II, cross Canada rail (with dimming lights simulating day and night), castles, mansions, knights, fairies and a lot more, more than 1 hundred displays. They are of different scales, the larger scale has detailed facial expressions while the small scale has hundreds of figures. If you like to look at each display in details, you can spend more than half a day.

Our family really enjoyed our visit to Miniature World! My husband and I visited 12 years ago and we knew we had to take the kids to see. It was just as fun this time around. The exhibits are so detailed with a wide variety of themes to keep the attention of everyone. The admission staff was friendly and ticket prices standard. The building was clean and although old, it was well maintained.

How old should a kid be for miniature world?

The museum is interactive with some of the displays so I would say walking age but I believe all ages will enjoy the museum.
Are pets allow?
Sue D
Bremerton, WA17 contributions
As there were no signs indicating no animals allowed, I suppose the animal, if leashed, could enter. But the building layout is a series of narrow hallways that patrons walk through with a few larger rooms with multiple displays. I would not expect a pet on a leash to feel safe or comfortable in such a situation.

How long do you recommend for a visit to Miniature World?
Miniature World
Victoria, Canada
Hi Les,
On average, our guests spend 45-60 minutes in our exhibit area. However, Miniature World is a self-guided tour and you are welcome to take all the time you need to see everything we have to offer. Thanks for your question.
Hi, is Miniature World wheel chair or mobility scooter accessible? I'm looking forward to visit this summer if it is. Thank you
Sue D

Because the layout is a series of narrow hallways with people stopping to see the displays, I would say a scooter could not manage it.
