I wasn’t sure what to expect on the Powder Highway ski tour with Fresh Adventures but from the moment we landed in Kelowna, our guides Sam and Darren made sure there wasn’t a dull moment. They went out of their way to not only guide us through some of the best ski terrain in British Columbia but also organised a heap of activities around the skiing like watching the local Revelstoke ice hockey team, hot springs visits, craft brewery sessions and organised restaurant bookings for our group every night.
We covered a lot of ground to get to some of BC’s best mountains including Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, Whitewater and Red Mountain but the best day by far was on our final day when we heli-skied the Purcells near Kaslo.
Alex helped us tailor the tour to exactly what we wanted and all the guys in our group were impressed with the quality of the accommodation. Sam and Darren’s local knowledge was priceless, and they never failed to pick out the best coffee in town for our quick brekky stops before we hit the slopes.
Darren and Sam are two of the nicest guys you could meet and really made the tour an enjoyable experience.
I’ll definitely be back to do another tour with Fresh Adventures.

Everything you could ask for...and then some!
This was my second year travelling from Scotland for the 11 Day BC Ski Tour - which says something for Fresh Adventures and the stunning Powder Highway.
Right from the start, Alex was very helpful answering any questions I had and setting up bookings to suit. Including accommodation before and after the tour.
In the mountains, Margot and Sam were fantastic guides. Expertly catering to the levels of the group and riding people wanted to do. Having guides like this allowed us to make the most of some incredible resorts. Hikes to hidden stashes, powdery tree runs and steep chutes. I felt confident and safe where I wouldn't have ventured otherwise.
It's also hard not to catch on to Margot's seemingly endless enthusiasm. This combined with an atmosphere of encouragement and it felt like everyone progressed during the tour.
When not on the slopes, there's little to stress about. As there was always a plan for the best après and dinner spots. With plenty of local knowledge thrown in.
Now back home and I wish I was still chasing the sound of excited shouts through the trees.
Thanks for everything Margot, Sam and Alex!

I just got back from the 7 day Rockies tour and could not have had a better week. Everything about this trip was great, from the camping to the food to the amazing hikes and rafting trip.
For my first time in Canada this trip was a perfect way to explore the area, going to a mix of the popular places that you want to see and to the hidden gems you wouldn't find without a guide. The hikes were varied, we swam in lakes, climbed some mountains and went on the white water rafting trip (which was great!).
Our guides, Jafar and Morgan, were brilliant. Jafar's cooking was great and far exceeds what you expect to eat on a camping trip - the cheese/meat boards made mid-hike with a stunning view a highlight. Both have great knowledge of all of the hikes/nature/plants you see and were just great at what they do.
The group of people on the trip were also great, a perfectly varied group and we had some great evenings at the camp.
All in all an amazing trip.

If you are looking for an incredible guided hiking trip amidst breathtaking scenery, I highly recommend the Canadian company called Fresh Adventures. I loved hiking through flower filled meadows, alongside sapphire blue streams, and among snow crusted craggy peaks. I completely enjoyed the 12 day Signature Rockies Hiking and Camping trip, led by Kevin and Jafar. Both are highly experienced guides who consistently demonstrate professionalism and hard work. I learned so much about hiking technique, navigation, and bear safety. I appreciated their positive spirit and great sense of humor. Our group was well fed with delicious and varied meals. Jafar is a master of the camp kitchen, and I found myself trying to recreate some of his savory meals when I returned home! The group size of 12 was perfect! Lots of opportunity for great conversations and camaraderie. Evening campfires were a lovely time to talk about the day’s highlights while roasting the perfect marshmallows for our delectable somemores. Parting words. . . The entire experience (hiking, scenery, camping, trip leaders, fellow campers ) will be a sparkling “forever memory” for me.

This tour exceeded my expectations. We were quite fortunate with the weather having four powder days at Revelstoke and Kicking Horse and then blue bird days for the remainder. I can't speak more highly of our two guides, Carl and Laurence. They did a fantastic job of scoping out the best powder staches at all of the resorts and were a continuous source of banter and jokes. In addition, they were true professionals in dealing with any issues that arose and took everything in their stride. A big shout out to Laurence who helped me with getting down Terminator 1 at Kicking Horse. I'm very sure I would have never attempted anything like that without her encouragement and am so stoked I did it. Also, shout out to Carl for introducing us to the cabin at Red Mountain, super cool!
I couldn't have asked for any more from this trip; great group of new friends, fantastic guides, beautiful scenery and awesome resorts. Thanks Fresh Adventures Team!

My daughter and I went on the 11 day, 4 resort tour with Margot and Bev as our guides. What an awesome trip. Margot and Bev are sensational guides showing us spots we never would have found on our own. Our group was a bunch of fantastic people. the restaurant choices were fabulous. Alex the owner, even helped arrange a few days in Whistler for us after the tour. We’re both exhausted and exhilarated and would highly recommend Fresh Adventures to any skier or boarder. And damn, those girls can ride/ski!! :)

Our guides were great and worked to show us some lovely walks with really breathtaking views. Our guide Laurie was particularly thoughtful.
However the communication from Fresh Adventures was not accurate. Some things for future travellers to note:
- The advertised white water rafting and horse riding in the itinerary is not pre-booked. Our guides only called the rafting company the day before and they were booked out because it was high season. Our group was astounded and disappointed that fresh adventures didn’t appear to have a standing booking for the advertised activities. Horse riding was never offered.
- Campers are expected to pitch in. You are expected to put up and take down your tent and also clean the dishes including meal prep dishes for all meals in the campsite sinks. This is not a full service experience or glamping as some of our fellow campers had expected!
- Tents and sleeping bags for hire are not washed between groups - sleeping bags had a distinct used smell and hair and socks in them. The hire fee was advertised as covering “professional cleaning” but this clearly doesn’t happen.
- Campsites in BC and Alberta are all beside train tracks and the freight trains go past every hour or so all through the night. They are LOUD. Take air plugs. Apart from this the campsites were prettier than I expected, I had imagined a festival type field of tents but each camping area was quite secluded.
- Fresh Adventures needs to invest more in mosquito proof equipment - two of the base camps had horrendous mosquitos and Fresh Adventures didn’t even have netting for the gazebo. Comfort of guests would be vastly improved if they just had netted side gazebos and citronella candles.
- There is no room in the trailer for your suitcases so pack light for the trip as you’ll need to keep all bags under tent awning- we had big suitcases from a long Canada trip so was fairly cramped and our suitcases were damaged from the rocks on the ground.

After I took several weeks to evaluate and process, I would also like to write a review on a trip I did in July/August with FreshAdventures: I did the 8-day Vancouver Island CampingTour and had an amazing trip. Although the organization and communication beforehand seemed a little off (taking a long time to answer e-mails and providing us with a slightly different itinerary), our tour guides, Marie and Carl, made the trip worth those 5 stars. Due to various food allergies, I am really difficult to accommodate when it comes to preparing meals. However, they were super patient and absolutely tried their best to prepare different options. The culinary variety of food included different specialities which, among other things, included mashed potatoes, lemon squares, Dutch liquorice or German Kartoffeln.
Furthermore, our mountain monkey skills were tested on a 13 k hike along the rocky coast- absolutely breathtaking!! I had an amazing time throughout the rest of the trip, as well, even though I sprained my ankle on that hike. Due to a great crew and the superb tour guide skills of Carl though, I got back to the van and the campsite safe and sound. Despite the fact that I couldn’t go surfing, I got to experience the magic spell of Leonard island on the shore of Tofino.
I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone who is looking for a great Vancouver Island experience. Trust your guides! They know great spots; even if they are not advertised in the description of the tour. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Just go baby!
I didn’t want to duplicate the two excellent reviews below; I was on the same trip as the authors of these and I 100% agree with all that is written in both.
I was a solo traveller to Canada, taking the trip with the aim of experiencing a different kind of skiing holiday from those that I had previously had over the last 25 years in Europe.
I was not to be disappointed, learning new skills and techniques to improve my “non groomer” skiing immeasurably. Although some might argue otherwise, and I still insist that the “Tomahawk” was completely intentional!
Our amazing guides Mac and Jafar were outstanding, there was always a plan for everything, food, ski runs, traveling, watching the Superbowl etc. All worked in my eyes seamlessly, and nothing was ever too much effort, they knew just were to find the rights runs with the best fresh tracks in each resort.
Like I said, I travelled on my own, but I never felt like I was, the group were fantastic, and everyone looked out for each other, the good-natured banter and camaraderie was bang on. I had thought the road trips between resorts might be a bit of a bind, but I really enjoyed and looked forward the drives and the amazing views that each one brought.
After the trip finished, I stayed on in Banff for another week, as it seemed unthinkable not to, having travelled all that way from the UK. Sunshine Mountain and Lake Louise were equally as amazing as the other resorts we visited on the trip.
Everywhere we went locals apologised about the snow conditions this season, so if this was bad, I would really love to ski it all again in a good year. We had a couple of days where conditions were a bit icy but having only ever skied in Europe before I would still have classed the conditions as exceptionally good.
My experience of Fresh Adventures was first class, the tour represented excellent value for money. The hotels that we stayed in were more than good enough for this kind of trip and well-chosen for comfort and location.
If you are looking for an adventure, and like me to extend your skiing abilities in wider range of conditions, I would highly recommend looking at what Fresh Adventures have to offer.

Alex was fantastic in organising the trip. Came on a zoom with my friends to ensure all our questions answered. He seamlessly added some extras onto the 11 day powder highway tour culminating with CAT skiing. The whole trip ran like clockwork which was enabled by Jafar and Laurence our guides who were amazing and lovely people. They looked after us, ensured the logistics were smooth, found us the best runs and fresh powder every day and were funny and entertaining and great company on and off the mountains. The whole trip exceeded expectations and was wonderful from start to finish delivering outstanding memories to last a lifetime.

Hi! Since I have only got limited time, can I join this day tour without staying overnight?

Hi Eddie,
Absolutely! As long as you are available between the pick up time and the drop off time you are all good. Please note that our tours have concluded for the season and we expect snowfall and ice to be in the alpine at this point.
Thanks for your interest!
Alex
