I've been to see these guys before but it was open air and was a different feel. In this venue it was a whole new vibe and appreciation for their set. the Commodore was great, several other friends were there and also called it amazing. Service was great, sound was great, seating was minimal, but with the crowds following DJ's... More

Was our first time going to this venue for a concert and it was really nice I liked that it was small so it felt closer with the artist, the service was really good at the bar and with the servers, wish there was a little more seating but it was good and will definitely go back

We had bought tickets many months ago to see The Proclaimers in concert at the Commodore. I had heard of the venue before but had not been there. I was concerned with the idea of general seating...i prefer assigned seats for concerts. WE got there at 645pm and there was a good lineup already. Doors open at 7. So first... More

The Commodore is a popular venue for events of this size. I'm told it can handle a thousand people but there is limited seating so most people stand. The result is that if you are seated you can't see much. There are two large screens on either side of the stage and lots of smaller screens around the room but... More

Travelled to Vancouver to see Echo and the Bunnymen at the Commodore. Music was a total 80s flashback! But what we didn't know was that the sound on the balcony of the venue sucked; we couldn't understand a word the lead singer was saying. Locals told us later that the lower level has better sound. And geeze, Commodore, could you... More

I have watched Spirit of the West perform here four times now and every time was amazing! There are a number of bars inside so no matter where you are there is always one not too far away. Bathrooms weren't bad compared to some concert venues I've been to.

Went here last Saturday night for a Spirit of the West concert with my family and some family friends. The food was great, the drink choices were pretty good as well the music that was played before the show. The biggest highlight though, is the dance floor. It is huge! Some advice, don't leave your drink unattended or the staff... More

We did a fundraising dinner/gala here with a roaring 20's theme. The facility is incredible, with a huge dance floor, a ton of space for seating, and a great balcony. Perfect for an event that has a couple of different things going on at the same time. The staff was attentive and helpful. My only concern was that the food... More

We saw the Indigo Girls at the Commodore at the end of February 2016. We arrived an hour before the show hoping to find a table and get a few beers and some food. There were no available tables and we were lucky to find one spot on a couch in the balcony. There was one server for the balcony,... More

The Commodore is legendary in Vancouver. In the old days it was famous for its sprung dance floor which (apparently) is a dream to ballroom dance on. That floor is still there, refurbished along with the rest of the room. I visited for the first time in years on Sunday for Blues for Christmas. It would have been nice if... More

Staying in Granville Street

Neighborhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
