What a fantastic find this was, slightly off the beaten track on the hidden lake next to Stanley Park and close to the rose gardens. Fantastic volunteers told us so much about the local wildlife and were extremely passionate, knowledgeable and welcoming. We saw bald...More
This appears to be the same place as #121. In any event, a presentation area for an ecological group open on the weekends. I am curious to know more, and I hope this information, limited as it is, will entice you to check it out...More
Just happened on this place while walking around Lost Lagoon. Unless you are on the trail, it is very difficult to spot, nor is it well signed from above.
In any event, even though it was closed when I came by, the signs in the...More

I am thrilled that you enjoyed the Park. Stanley Park Ecology Society offers regular nature walks if you would like to learn about the beautiful ecology you enjoyed. Hope to see you on one of them!
Regarding the Lost Lagoon area itself:
This is one of my regular spots as a local where there is so much going on here with all the variety of urban wildlife. You are usually likely to see the raccoons, sometimes a mother one with babies...More
You would never know that this place existed as its hidden under the lost lagoon public lookout platform at the end of Alberni street. How do I know? I live in that tall white tower just up the street.

If you want to see Beavers up close, head to the end of this lake nearest Second Beach. Their lodge is the "island" just near the stone bridge - they often swim around the shore near the island and also swim up the stream towards...More
Stanley Park is Vancouver's premier spot to get up close and personal with nature and animals. The grassy expanse offers outdoor teahouses and stunning views, beachfront hideaways and splash parks. It is a typical getaway spot for friends and families, especially as it is home to Vancouver's aquarium, and some of its best equestrian outlets.
