Great way to unwind and do a pizza run to Bowen Island!!! Had a terrific time and obtained another view of Vancouver and the adjacent water life. Sunset over Stanley park on a Friday evening while under the Lions gate bridge was just another highlight. All made possible by the friendly and helpful staff with easy to use equipment. Thanks... We rented a boat for 4 hours and we had an amazing trip to Snug Cove, Bowen Island. We saw so much of Vancouver and all of its beautiful coastline. The Irish lads (Lorcan and Aidan) were extremely helpful and we were well informed before setting off. Truly a fantastic way to spend an evening in Vancouver.

We had a fantastic and exhilarating time out in waters around Stanley Park, Lions Gate Bridge and Coal Harbour. Everything about the boat rental and safety rules was explained to us professionally and clearly. This is a 'must do' if visiting Vancouver. We took our son and 2 grandkids and they loved it! We will return again to Granville Island... More

Renting a boat for a couple of hours was by far the most fun we have had in Vancouver. The staff was awesome and the equipment was excellent. Vancouver is a maritime city. The best way to experience that environment is from the water on your own schedule. The staff at Granville Island Boat Rental make that very easy to... More

There is no better way to see Vancouver than from the water, and unless you're fortunate enough to own your own million dollar yacht, Granville Island Boat Rentals is the way to see it. The boats are in great shape, and are really easy to operate. Everyone was really helpful with explaining the charts and making sure we all stayed... More

Myself, my sister and teenage daughter hire one of the boats for 5 hours and drove it to Granite Falls and Deep Cove. We had a blast. The boat was the perfect size (it sat 5). The people at the rental shop had to show us how to change over the fuel tanks as we had hired it for so... More

Saw this place on my last visit to Granville Island and had to try it. Staff was friendly, explained the routes, round trip times, and what to watch out for. Mitch went over everything about the boats and I was on my way in less than 20 minutes. Charge is per hour + fuel + damage deposit, so be prepared... More

What a great way to see the city, Stanley Park, the big ships in the bay and just to catch the sea air. We were walking in Granville Island and went to look at the boats and saw a young man cleaning some small boats - turns out this was Lorkin from Ireland who invited us down to look at... More

Our family rented a boat on a late evening and had a great time, but out in the bay the waters were a little rough. When we came back in after an hour, the staff told us that the next morning the waters were expected to be calm and not much boat traffic with a predicted overcast sky. So we... More

Neighborhood Profile
Granville Island & Fairview
One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
