The area
Address
Neighborhood: Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.

I went to watch Vancouver Canucks against Arizona Coyotes at the Rogers Arena. This was a pre-season game, and although it would have been nice to have seen a competitive game, this was dictated by the time of our visit. The game was on a Friday evening so having arrived in Vancouver on the Thursday night we spent the day exploring the city and also located the stadium. We had a couple of beers at one of the many bars on our way down to the stadium - to get us in the mood. The arena is fantastic and a great atmosphere is created and the Canucks ended up winning 3-0. The only drawbacks are that, as at other North American sports stadium the drinks and food are extortionate, like 3 or 4 times high street prices, which is fine but often you might just buy a beer expecting it to be a bit more expensive than elsewhere. We bought our tickets via ticketmaster, showed them to a Canucks official on the way in and entry was seemless, even though no bar code was present on the tickets which were sent to me and added to my phone passport. Thanks Cannucks for a great evening out!

We tried to get tickets for the game before we left Australia for Cananda, unfortunaltely just could not get them. :(
It was on my bucket list to watch the Canucks play home, it would have been awesome. I am 60 y.o and just love the game.
The next best thing for me was to do the tour. My husband and 18 yo son was so so about the tour.
Well, we met our tour guide in the merchandise store, FANTASTIC .. I was so excited and emotional ( would you believe) and teared up just from the excitement of being there, and my first glimpse of the ice rink was... I have no words, the tour was unbelievable and both my husband and son loved it so much as well. I have to say, during our 3 week visit to Canada, it was the best of best experience for the 3 of us.
Finally something that we all loved together. Walking around behind scenes and the stories our tour guide told us he just had us there in the palm of his hand, felt like we were there, with each of the games he talked about, the excitement we felt, the pictures on the walls in the private boxes, unbelievable. Hearing some stories of our favourite players especially Elias OMG loved it.. A must to do.. Mind you, we walked out of the merchandise shop with armfulls.
KUDOS to our tour guide we had, and a BIG Thankyou

Paid $460 for 2 tickets, Canuks vs Chicago. OK expensive but it’s an event experience, right!
The evening started with a $40.00 parking surprise, we arrived early so we could have a meal, $58.00 later we had 2 burgers and fries, a coke and a beer, seriously?? The first period was great, Canuks up by 2, unfortunately the next 2 periods both teams fell asleep and that’s how it ended. An hour later we got out of the parking lot only to find out we had an other 45 mins to get out of down town.
My first and my last experience with a live Canuks game. Enjoy the riches while you can, sooner or later people say enough guys.

First timers at a hockey game on Tuesday we were so well welcomed and looked after - our seats on the wheelchair platform were great with an amazing view. The service for food and drink was great and very welcome. Particular thanks to Jill English who looked after all our needs so brilliantly. We can't fault our experience for our first visit to Vancouver woukd definitely recommend going to a hockey game here we are so glad we did.

Canucks are one of the top ice hockey teams and experiencing a game night is a must-do opportunity for anyone visiting Vancouver.
The ground opens one hour before the game starts and use this opportunity to get into the super friendly atmosphere.
This was our first ice-hockey experience but we'll definitely come along again!

Good place for watching hockey games and now they have installed a new jumbo screen for watching the game highlights! Expensive to get tickets plus the food & beverages are not cheap! However it’s a great night out especially if you’re team is winning!!

Attended a Canucks game and if your used to English/Irish stadium experiences - your in for some shock!
more about the eating/drinking/entertainment element than the actual game. felt totally detached with what was going on during the game due to the contusious party element.
might be for some folf, but not for us.

We came with one of our grand-kids & son to watch the last game of the Sedin week. Well worth coming to see how much they enjoyed the event. End result the Canucks lost, however it was something for the memory book!

The boys gave an F- effort tonight. Should have know better than to spend $ for entertainment just to watch the Knights have an uninterrupted skate. What a pitiful performance. Great job avoiding physical contact boys.

We went there for a hockey game. It's great venue but the concession food is just okay and it's pricey. We enjoyed watching the game in the private box

We are in Vancouver from 15th-18thJuly will there be an ice hockey match on then??
Written June 8, 2019
Zoew2019 is correct NHL teams start playing in Oct you arrive during the most inactive hockey time of the year. The NHL Entry Draft will be held in Vanc this month June 21-22 and Vancouver Canucks 2019 Development Camp will be held at UBC Father Bauer Arena from June 25-27th. Sorry you will miss that action.
Be sure to use the skytrain right from the Airport if your staying downtown its super easy, safe, clean and cost effective . Enjoy Vanc is one of the most beautiful cites in Canada especially in the Sunshine !

Can one reserve a parking space in Rogers Arena parkade? I recently had knee replacement surgery and we're driving in from Chilliwack. I use my walker and can't take the skytrain. My daughter and I would like to park and I can go in on an arm crutch.
I'm NOT missing Rod Stewart, lol!
