Took my mum up who is 80 and fit up here we had no problems as there are escalators and lifts. There is a little shop at the top for drinks and snacks and a bigger one at the bottom for souvenirs. We had our trip paid for by Rocky Mountaineer so it was a great bonus especially as the... More

Lucky for us there was no line here. The views of Gastown, Stanley Park and Downtown are great. I assumed that because its not the tallest lookout ever it would be a waste. But its just enough to see it all.

This was a pleasant little trip as part of the hop on hop off tour. Glass elevator lift could be a bit spooky for people scared of heights. The views up top on a clear day are really worth paying for. Guide at the top was also informative. One hour max is enough so take it as part of a... More

This was our first stop when arriving in Vancouver. What better way to see everything, and locate the things you want to see. The views are awesome, and if you read about your direction your looking you'll learn a lot too.

The Lookout was very nice for getting great views of the city. They have a mini tour while at the top where the guide will point out all the major city points. As you walk around the inside, there are place cards to give you information about the area of the city in front of you. The elevator ride to... More

Go at sunset timings (to maximize daytime and night time views). Also, on a clear day, you'll be able to see as far as Mount Baker in Washington, USA!

This lookout is easy to get to and gives great views over Vancouver city and Stanley Park. Whilst I was up in the lookout I heard numerous people complaining that "the tower isn't very tall" and that "I thought it rotated." As so many people don't seem to have read what they are visiting it bears repeating that this is... More

This provides a 360 degree view of Vancouver and surrounding water. Staff offer free presentations in the Lookout and these are announced at fairly regular intervals. There are also plenty of signs explaining what you are looking at and giving some local history.

I think the best part about Vancouver Lookout is that you let you go in multiple times on the same day using the same ticket! We went in both during the day time and night time to get different views. I'd recommend to not miss this place while in Vancouver.

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
