- VegasJoeLas Vegas, Nevada109 contributionsProvides Excellent Views of Vancouver When Skies PermitThis is a nice place to be if you really want to see the city from +/- 500 feet in the air. The day we went did not have low clouds/marine layer and we enjoyed beautiful 360 degree views. Inside the observation area is well documented with areas and buildings to spot, free use of high powered (stationary) binoculars, warm (it’s hilly in November!) and clean. This was a fun 45 minute ’break’ and gave us a chance to see Vancouver in a fairly unique way.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 12, 2023
- SFBayPeninsulaSan Francisco, California25 contributionsBeautiful Views & AffordableYou get a beautiful view of Vancouver for much less than you pay for at the Space Needle in Seattle. Perfect timing, we went just before sunset and the lighting was beautiful and got great pictures before and at sunset. We spotted Gastown from up there and that's where we went afterwards. It's a beautifully lit area to take a stroll, grab coffee or dinner, and shop.Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten January 6, 2024
- ltcterry2006Augusta, Georgia60 contributions360° Panorama ExperienceWe went up on our first afternoon in town. We had taken the Skytrain from our hotel to the Waterfront Station, right across the street from the Vancouver Lookout. We took advantage of the opportunity to get a 360-degree orientation around the area and discuss what we wanted to see/visit the rest of our trip. There is a restaurant, but we didn't eat. Great views. But a couple of grips. They say "our glass elevators" but that creates a perception I didn't think existed. There's a glass wall looking out the back of the building. Nothing very exciting. As you walk around, there are signs w/ photographs identifying what is off in the distance. The pictures are local to the distant area and provide no guidance to actually finding the specific landmarks. Both minor issues. The latter would be easy to fix. The former not so much. Maybe just tone it down in the advertising. Great views and when we went on a summer Monday afternoon quite uncrowded. We were not rushed along by crowds at all. The glass was clean and it was easy to take pictures.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 25, 2024

Nice views of the city from the lookout and a free audio guide is available. The main downside is the way in which you buy tickets- it is cashless and self service through an iPad. If you are using a travel money card quite often they do not allow online purchases, in which case you would not be able to enter.

We squeezed in a visit in the hour before 6 PM closing and boy was it stressful to locate. We walked with our toddler in a stroller from our downtown hotel and despite GoogleMaps and having written down instructions on how to access the Lookout, we ended up walking around the entire building block before trying to navigate the elevators to take the glass elevator up to the Lookout. As a tourist, my humble opinion is to please consider ample signage to direct wayfinding. Once there, we did enjoy the panoramic views and our toddler loved it. Not much to see beyond the one lookout floor; we’ve been to several lookout towers in various countries so nothing was outstanding about this one. Good to tackle on your trip to say you did it.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. While the Vancouver Lookout is located inside the Harbour Centre building, we understand more signage could be helpful to find us. We are happy to learn you and your family enjoyed the views!

Decided to visit here as my hotel was across the street. I easily purchased a ticket online for $20 and was able to ride the elevator quickly as there was no line to go up.
If you do not have much time to spend in Vancouver and are staying near the Lookout, visiting here is an excellent way to get a sense of the city's layout. The views are stunning, especially towards the north where the mountains are, while there are good explanations of the city's various neighbourhoods and areas.
That said, in my opinion, this is not among the most interesting things to do in Vancouver. Though I had a fun experience, I enjoyed myself more in many other parts of the city during my five-day stay.

This Observatory provides a great view of the city and surroundings. It includes a narrative of many interesting sites as you go around. Recommend. Also, visit the Steam Clock, which sings a tune every 20 minutes or so. It’s within a 5-10 minutes walk.

We visited the Lookout on the very first day of our trip to Vancouver. There is no better place to get a panoramic view of the city than there. Audio guides in several languages also provide many interesting insights into the city - both historical and contemporary. Brilliant outdoor elevator. Reasonably priced. Definitely do it.

The week before we had been up the Calgary Tower and I'd enjoyed the distant views of the Rockies .
Here it was a 360 view of them and not distant .
It wasn't immediately obvious to us that this was the lookout as we walked passed it a couple of times wondering what that disk was doing plonked onto a tower block but , eventually, we worked it out and after discovering they allow military discount we had a look.
The views are stunning and are worth the trip.

Great way to see the whole of Vancouver and the surrounding area. We had to get out ticket on-line as there was no-one at the ticket desk which is a bit of a pain. At the top we were told about the commentary available on our phones. We took this option which lasted about 20 mins and was very informative. There are also plenty of information boards.

In our opinion, if a city has a tower, take advantage! Going up is a great way to see the city and surrounding areas. This was lovely because there was a voice tour you could follow on your phone to learn more. We took advantage of a beautiful day in early August to see around us. We got there around 4:30pm on a Friday and walked right on the elevator after buying a ticket from the counter. The elevator is quick and smooth. The views were stunning. We walked from our hotel, so I can't comment on parking.

It is right in downtown Vancouver but we found a parking spot on the street less than a block away. There may be some parking garages around, but depending on the time of day and day of the week you're there, you should be able to find a parking meter within a reasonable distance.

I want to buy 2 tickets for my friends who are moving to Vancouver next week. If I order in advance, are the tickets open? Or do I have to select a date on booking?
Written May 8, 2017
Hello!
Tickets do not expire for up to a year. You can purchase in advance and do not have to select a date to use them. Looking forward to having you visit.

My family and I will be visiting Vancouver Lookout in July. We would like to stop in at the restaurant at the top for a drink and snack in the late morning or early afternoon. Do we need reservations? Also, is going to the revolving restaurant enough to see the sites of Vancouver or is it best to go to the observation deck too.
Written March 24, 2017
Hi Tom,
We operate separately from The Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant. If you have any inquiries regarding dining there, you would need to contact them directly.
However, as for view; ours is the exact same as theirs. Although with our tickets you are able to return multiple times within the same day. We also offer complimentary guided tours to where our tour guides point out different cities and building while providing interesting facts.
Hope this information helps, and please feel free to contact us again with any other questions.
Cheers,
The Vancouver Lookout

Can you see northern lights in Vancouver
And if yes in late November
Written January 9, 2017
Good question. Typically not, it's not common to see them in the city. However, Vancouver has seen the Northern Lights in the past year. They are normally experienced in the northern part of British Columbia.

Oi Liliane!

Hi,
Is the lookout wheelchair and scooter accessible?
Thanks!
Written July 8, 2016
I actually didn't go to the lookout floor because it was really expensive and we went to the revolving restaurant that it's a floor upstairs from the lookout deck and had a drink, but I do believe they are both wheelchair accessible, they have an elevator and it is really wide
Written July 21, 2016
Can someone please tell me about cafes (lunch and dinner) close to the lookout??
Written June 12, 2016
There is a restaurant in the tower you can find the menu and reviews on line try "Top of Vancouver", though as others have said there are lots nearby
