We walked around the entire downtown Vancouver and finally came to this beach to sit and relax. Great beach with wonderful views although it can get quite busy.

Great beach so spend a summer afternoon. Play some volleyball or just hang out by the largest outdoor saltwater pool in Canada.

Beach is great, the parking fees are high and you need to exactly know how long you are going to stay which is difficult as a tourist that hasn't been there before. Why don't they just offer a parking ticket for the whole day in Vancouver for us tourists with a car, maybe visiting all the beaches on the peninsula?

We spent an afternoon here. Beautiful beach with gorgeous sunset views. Lots of food trucks and farmer stands to purchase food. Make sure you pay for parking because the ticket agents are very vigilant !

We stopped off at Kitsilano beach today after a trip to Granville Island. It was a gorgeous hot and sunny Sunday, so the beach was heaving with visitors. The views from the beach are good out to the hills surrounding Vancouver. The facilities are excellent, with toilets, refreshments, changing rooms, and drench showers. There were plenty of lifeguards on duty... More

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighborhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
