Kits is an awesome place to hang out at. You can sit on the grass or the sand or and have a beautiful view either way. People are playing all sorts of sports and games. In the summer you will see the beauty of nature and of the people. Lots of spots to grab a drink or some food. Does... More

The beach has amazing views, a great walking path, volleyball courts, playground, and a great dog park. A great beach to go for a walk, picnic, or look for seals. You can also follow the trail all the way to Granville Island

Kits Beach is a good family-friendly beach. The water is cold and refreshing after a bike ride or long walk from downtown. There are better beaches for younger travelers that I would recommend, my favorite is 3rd beach in Stanley Park.

One of Vancouver's finest beaches. Lots of local beach volleyball, kids play area, lots of grass, life guarded swimming area, concessions, restaurant, easy walking to Maritime Museum, False Creek Ferries (and thus on towards Granville Island et al), basketball courts, walking and cycling paths. But best of all, just west of the actual beach area is a wonderful large salt... More

Being protected by the Bay, the water is calm & would probably be very nice for swimming. (It was too cold when I was there) The sand is soft & nice for walking, plus there are bike/people paths, to stroll/ride along beside the water. You can see the ships come & go, as well as watch the tide ebb &... More

Decided to stop for a coffee on Cornwall st.The Starbucks serves a decent drink and I managed to find a parking spot.Watched some volleyball and enjoyed the great views of the Northshore mountains and variety of watercraft while taking in some fresh sea air.Beach swimming and outdoor pool has something for everyone at this beach, including picknic tables and parking.

We walk at Kits Beach in all weather year-round. It is particularly lovely in summer, but any time of year it is great to walk along the beach path. There is an excellent public pool but it is fun to go into the ocean.

I have been here on several occasions now and this is one of my favorite spots in Vancouver. You can stroll along the beach and adjacent trail, all the while taking in magnificent views of the city across the water. You can play volleyball or just relax on the beach and there are plenty of spots to grab something to... More

At the foot of Arbutus, where the road meets the water, you'll find concessions, a saltwater pool, the Kitsilano Showboat (summer variety show performance space), sun and waves. Awesome people taking in the sun, checking out the beach for friends and just hanging out. On a sunny day or a sunny evening, you can lose track of time. Parking could... More

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighborhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
