We went to the Sunday Mass at 18:30 which is Celebrated in Spanish. Very beautiful the celebration, the priest's homily, the songs. Indispensable for Catholics who visit or live in the city. There are other daily and Sunday hours in English and Spanish.

Given the stressful times in which we live, a bit of peace and quiet comes at a premium, despite its importance to one's well-being. That's why, whenever in downtown Vancouver, I stop here and just sit for twenty minutes or so. Not only rest the knees and ankles, but the sub-conscious too. So, downtown and stressed out? Drop in here, I believe you'll be glad you did.
btw: terrific 19 th century architecture too!

The stained glass windows and architecture of the Holy Rosary Catheral is probably the best in Vancouver. It's too bad that some homeless (maybe some aren't even homeless but just begging for a living) can sometimes be agressive as you climb up the stairs to the entrance of the church. Be wary as a parishoner has been assaulted because they gave the guy begging $5 and the guy wanted more.

This cathedral may not compete with Esztergom/Hungary, Paris and London, but certainly ne plus ultra for this part of the world. Stained glass, statuary, architecture - this has it all! Also impressed with the vast number of people praying and meditating. I suspect the confessional may have been open as well. I'm not sure if these issues would preclude photos of the inside, but I suspect it might be inappropriate while people are trying to use the church as a church. The one drawback to a VERY peaceful few minutes was the sound of building demolition next door.Hopefully, this will be gone by the time you visit.

Not the biggest cathedral I have ever seen but really lovely inside. Some outstanding stained glass windows. Nice ceiling and alter.

Beautiful Cathedral! We were amazed that Vancouver had such a beautiful Cathedral in downtown. You always see Mexicans in the church.

It may seem strange to review a religious service but seems appropriate for this Cathedral.
Stunningly good choir (only 4 voices in it) complemented a lovely mass held in a beautiful church.

Churches of stature are far and few between. As a young city Vancouver has not had time to have developed many ornate and traditional church structures. This is one to visit. No matter your religion or no religion these buildings hold a certain hallowed feeling of calm and security. Worth a stop. Reflect. There are so few places these days to do that. This is no 800 year old piece but the feeling is there.
