I had to write a review of the Tour Guys - even though we took the tour back in summer 2016 - because we like to take in tours these guys put on in various cities. Leni, our tour guide was super knowledgeable and passionate about her city and its history, and some of the injustices that happened to the... More

These tours were really well run, the guides were friendly and helpful. This is a great way to see the city and get your bearings. They also give you ideas of other things you might want to do while you're there, so worth doing at the begining of your trip. We did the downtown one, and enjoyed it so much... More

We booked a Tour with Ali on Feb 8th. The weather was cold by Vancouver standards. We did the full day walking tour. Ali met us at our hotel and provided us with an excellent tour along the sea wall, downtown, Chinatown, and Granville Island. This is a must for anyone visiting the city for the first time! We had... Today we had a walking tour with Erik and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We feel like we've learnt a lot about the history of Vancouver and in particular China town and Gas town. It was all the little snippets and stories that he told us which made the day so interesting. We all feel that if we had just... More

We scheduled our tour on very short notice but Emma was able to meet us to do a tour of downtown Vancouver and Gastown. We had such a great time and learned so much about Vancouver. Emma was delightful! Plus she knew so much about the history of Vancouver. I especially enjoyed learning about when the Olympics were in Vancouver.... More

Our family of seven had a tour of Vancouver's Gastown and Chinatown with Ali. The tour could not have been better, not only seeing the two neighborhoods but learning about the history and stories of Vancouver from Ali. Seeing a city with a local is always the best way to find out about a city and discovering what makes it... More

Whilst Vancouver's China town is not the vibrant and thriving Chinatown to be found in some other major cities, this was a very interesting tour with our guide Alex. She deserved a decent tip. She is a local Vancouverite and very knowledgeable about the history of Chinese immigration and stories around the immigrant's treatment and contribution since the earliest days... More

Walked the downtown/waterfront and gastown/granville st tours with Bryan. He's knowledgeable, funny and a great example of Vancouver hospitality (despite not being a Canadian by birth!). There is so much we would have missed or just walked by, had we not taken these tours. Highest recommendations and I will definitely watch for tour guys on visits to other cities.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
