We recently visited Vancouver for the first time and had an incredible experience. The highlight of our trip was the Vancouver Food Tour. We did the Gastown Tasting Tour and were blown away by the friendliness of the tour guide Christina and the tasting of each of the 4 chosen restaurants. Can’t say enough wonderful things about Christina, she was... More

While I am not normally one to post on sites such as these, I had to take the time to comment about the wonderful experience we had recently while on our Food Tour at the Molson Brewery today. While the location itself is a key piece of Vancouver's history, we were very impressed by how much our tour guide contributed... More

We had a fabulous time on our food tour with Christina. She was an excellent guide; very knowledgeable, energetic and engaging. The food was outstanding, we would visit all restaurants after the first again! Well worth the money!

I am a foodie by nature, but this was in fact my first food tour (and not my last!). I chose to do the Gastown tour because I absolutely love area and the vibe. Carlos was our guide, and he was fantastic. He knew so much about the local history and culture, I think that was my favourite part of... More

Christina, our guide was incredible. Really knew her stuff and engaging. We were not thrilled with all the food or restaurants, particularly, the first. We had a fun time and enjoyed the time and our time with Christina and her shadow Helen!

Thank you LHDelray! I appreciate your feedback! It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed Christina's company; YES! She really does know her stuff! I wholeheartedly apologize that you were not thrilled with all the food or restaurants, and I have connected with my restaurant partners to ensure that your comments are heard, and determine a positive course of action.... Am from Vancouver & got a gift certificate for this as a gift. Our tour ended up being only 4 people, which was great. We went to 4 different places, 3 of which i hadn't been to, so that was awesome. Short walk thru Gastown to the other venues, with Angelique as our guide, and got to learn a few... More

This was really fun! I live in Vancouver and had an opportunity through a Meetup group to do this tour at a greatly reduced price (thank you meetup!). The full price would have been too steep for me to afford. Anyway, we visited I think nine different restaurants/shops in just under three hours - lots of places I had never... More

An excellent tour of many eclectic bars and restaurants in Chinatown. The tour lasted 3 hours and we had lots of tasty things to eat and drink (no need to eat dinner after). Carlos is a terrific guide and is very knowledgeable about the area's interesting history. He gave us great recommendations for other excellent bars and restaurants in the... More

This was a great way to see an old part of the city and find out about it's history, the group of people on the tour were a lot of fun and food we we served was superb, our tour guide Heather was both friendly and informative.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
With the recent exodus of massive new building projects hitting the neighbourhood, Chinatown; which has always been one of the city's most vibrant areas; is even more buzzing and buoyant than ever before. Playing host to some of the city's best pan-Asian cuisine, from fusion food to traditional home-cooking, Chinatown has remained faithful to its roots as a space which clambers with shop signs and welcomes diners to the table. More that that, it has a hip experimental vibe to it, with trendy pop-ups and catchall market shops. The biggest of Canada's Chinatowns, it is also home to an expansive Chinese garden whose manicured grounds inspire and delight, its ponds and pagodas drawing walkers in for an stroll. Take in the red streetlights, the playful awnings, and the upbeat air that suffuse this area.
