The market is spread out, it has a few shops and some good restaurants, particularly if you like indian milk sweets. It is very small and a bit hard to find.

This is in fact a neighbourhood, or a simple street with some shops that are no very special. In terms of food, we found 2 almost empty buffet places. Does not worth the visit.

This area is changing for the worse I feel. Few years ago a lot more shops etc, not it's an exodus to Surrey and Delta BC where the real estate is cheaper

The name is somewhat misleading as this is no Bricklane or Rusholme, few Punjabis can be found here. There are some of course but most have moved over the years to Surrey. The name has been kept but don't be fooled. Similar if you go...More

After visiting the Punjabi Market of 6 consecutive city blocks along Main St. in Vancouver, BC, during a weekday in the morning after 9 AM, I was let down by the visit. Most of the Punjabi-Indian shops seemed to be on the verge of closing...More

This place was a joke. I'm from San Francisco and we don't have a "little India" but what we have is ten times better. This place only had 2 restarants which sucked and the shopping was also a joke. All over priced stuff to sell...More

Vancouver has a huge East Indian population, and this wonderful market is one of the benefits of our multiculturalism. East Indian friends tell me the range of products available here rivals similar resources in Bombay or Calcutta. Certainly, my wife and I have found everything...More

Vancouver is a truly multicultural city. It's nice to come to this area on Main Street, but it offers a very small sampling of the buisnesses owned and operated by the East Indian community in Vancouver (I'd say the same of Chinatown). It's worth going...More

I expected a great deal from this area but I'm not sure if it was the time of day (late morning) or the fact that the neighborhood itself is declining, but many store fronts were vacant and those establishments that were there mainly consisted of...More

an industrial centre is now a wellspring of vintage

galleries, craft beer joints, and basement acting
