Yaletown is Vancouver’s trendy and upscale renovated warehouse district. This fresh urban neighbourhood is just an easy walk from the centre of downtown Vancouver or a quick ferry ride from Granville Island. Yaletown’s converted heritage buildings are home to some of city’s top fashion and design shops, as well as cutting edge restaurants and bars. Old loading docks act as giant sidewalks and create a unique setting for wandering, shopping, or lounging at one of the many outdoor patios.

My wife and I were staying in downtown Vancouver off Burrard St and were able to walk to this beautiful section of town. There are numerous restaurants, shops etc. in addition to a marina for you to just walk about. The seawall extends to that part of town and it is just very relaxing to walk the wall and the... More

nice to walk around this part of town which has its own personality. Trendy shops and the concentration of some of the best eateries of Vancouver...great for dinning "al fresco" you have a choice of at least 50 restaurants within 3 blocks...The area is a favorite for locals who are avoiding the too touristy places

Yaletown is outstanding! very trendy and quaint. Really clean and outside the hustle and bustle of the city. Cute boutique shops and great view of Granville Island.

It is one of downtown Vancouver neighborhood. It is not the one that I would like to visit but is also not the worst one. You can get there by passing over the Granville Bridge - from here you can take beautiful pictures of downtown or of the False Creek, From here if you take the right side exit you... More

Definitely a downtown kind of vibe in Yaletown. Tons of high-rises which is great if you are lucky enough to be on a high floor to get to enjoy the views from these cool buildings. There is noise that comes with being in any area as crowded as this, traffic, sirens, etc., but that is all part of the fun.

Stayed in the Opus Hotel in Yaletown while staying in Vancouver. The place has an affluent if somewhat pretentious feel to it. It has plenty of bars and restaurants to eat and drink in and it's very close to False Creek which offers some great walks and views.

Yaletown has been transformed over the years into a very plush area with high rise living & views over to Granville Island, condos, offices, boutiques, bars, restaurants and even nightclubs. The Warehouse District now has many nightclubs and brew pubs with very smart architectural features. There are some lovely parks in Yaletown, George Wainborn Park (where locals walk their dogs),... We ended up in Yaletown after taking the ferry from Granville Island. We were pleasantly surprised by our clean surroundings and decided to stroll around instead of catching a bus back to our hotel immediately. We really enjoyed our walk and found a frozen yogurt place to get something refreshing to eat.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
