About
Heritage meets modern describes the historic district of Yaletown. Yaletown provides the serenity of an oceanfront seawall, along with the largest selection of trendy patios and award-winning boutiques. As a great escape within the big city, Yaletown offers an opportunity to explore acclaimed restaurants and eclectic shops set along heritage brick walkways with free area WiFi (#YaletownFree). Originally the 1886 western terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway, today the warehouse district of Yaletown is both vibrant and walkable, making the gleaming residential towers surrounding the area some of the most coveted in the city.

Address
Neighborhood: Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.

Yaletown borders False Creek and once was the warehouse section. Today, those elevated platforms house coffee shops and cafes and pubs. Down below, at street level, the community holds events. While we were visiting, there was an animal (dog, really) appreciation kind of an event going on and it was such a treat!

Dogs in pools, dogs with wings, dog booths, dog products, doggie day care, and dog socializing. The people and their fur-babies absolutely radiated love. This is the kind of community-based event that sets Yaletown apart from nearby neighborhoods.

Given Yaletown's unique layout (warehouse bays and industrial-era lanes), these kinds of events could only be held here.

Awesome place to get out and walk about one of the older parts of Vancouver. Great access to False Creek and there are restaurants for every type of pallet. If you are a photographer, there is a lot of architecture to take pictures of. Even walkable and worth a visit in the rain.

Yaletown is a lovely area of Vancouver. Plenty of cafes and restaurants as well as other interesting shops. It's a pleasure walking the streets and the waterfront is wonderful. The views are amazing.

this place is great for people who love fashion, good quality food, and indulgence. It has everything: salons, cafes, cute little stores, and great restaurants. I highly recommend these places:

-Shirubay, a hip Japanese fusion restaurant
-Fine Finds, my favourite little boutique with clothes, accessories, and other miscellaneous stuff
-The Cross, they sell a lot of shabby chic furniture and decoration for your home-pricey but a beautiful store!

Amazing vibes in Yale Town - especially on a Friday night! Great place to bar hop or cosy up in one of the Jazz dens.

The heart of Yaletown sits on the waterfront at the south end of Davie Street. The Canada Line Yaletown station is about 25 minutes from the Airport, and within easy walking distance from any downtown hotel. There are more than 20 excellent restaurants, and best of all, the Seawall. Take a 40 minute walk along the Seawall from the south end of Davie Street along False Creek, through Sunset Beach and on to English Bay at the north end of Davie Street. Take an Aquabus ferry over to Granville Island, or walk over to Science World. Rent a bicycle and take the seawall all the way from Yaletown and around Stanley Park and back within 2 hours. The Roundhouse Community Center features a steam locomotive, and Coopers Park offers a waterfront off-leash dog park. David Lam park has several children's playgrounds an plenty of room for sporting activities. The only thing better than visiting Yaletown is living here.

Yaletown is horrible. I lived there for 5 years before escaping. I would rather spend the day at Main & Hastings than put up with the hipster, tiny condo-dwelling, wannabes walking their toy dogs (and not picking up after them) snobs of Yaletown. Seriously folks, the shops and restaurants in Yaletown are all grossly over-priced and nothing special compared to anywhere else. Yaletown is about posing. It is the most artificial place in Canada.

Restaurants for every taste and occasion including Rodney's Oyster Bar (a must if you like oysters and other sea foods with a great atmosphere), Bluewater Café for more elegant dining with a great Sushi Bar and great seafood.. I recommend the Sable Fish at Bluewater (best in town). Also fun places like the Flying Pig Restaurant,,Ciopinno's, and a host of others. Shops, hair salons, and other places to drop in and browse.
