Yaletown is Vancouver’s trendy and upscale renovated warehouse district....

Yaletown is Vancouver’s trendy and upscale renovated warehouse district. This fresh urban neighbourhood is just an easy walk from the centre of downtown Vancouver or a quick ferry ride from Granville Island. Yaletown’s converted heritage buildings are home to some of city’s top fashion and design shops, as well as cutting edge restaurants and bars. Old loading docks act as giant sidewalks and create a unique setting for wandering, shopping, or lounging at one of the many outdoor patios.

BlueWater Restaurant is outstanding, one of our all time favorites. (see my review for details.) Yaletown is the first near downtown area that has been renovate and now comprises urban neighborhoods, boutique shops and a wonderful collection of restaurants. The stores don't stay open terribly late so if you want to have dinner as well as do window shopping i'd... More

This town is great! It has lots of foodie places to go to and Parking is relatively decent. It's not impossible to find parking (even though I usually don't need to cause I live nearby)

A good choice of cuisine on offer here, ranging from mid-range to higher end. We opted for Greek and Japanese restaurants when we visited. Mainland Street offers more choice of eateries than Hamilton, but it is worth looking at both.

Once an industrial warehouse district now a trendy neighbourhood for urban living, working, dining shopping and touring. It is a place to bring your visitors for a leisurely stroll on cobbled stones. A great variety of eateries awaits--fine dining, casual lunches, and places for coffee and ice cream. One of a few areas of mid rise buildings in downtown, Yaletown... More

Lots of restaurants plus Global Atomic boutique here in Yaletown. Sushi was delicious, and this part of town is clearly upscale and nice to walk.

Walked the area on way to dinner. Very lively scene of restaurants and bars, many with outdoor patios. Vintage storefronts reminded me of main streets of the past. Numerous homeless people, but not aggressive. I have never seen so many restaurants of any cuisine. Trendy area for the young adults.

We wandered through Yaletown on Saturday night when all the locals were out enjoying the bar and pub scene. It's a nice area, with lots of patio options (and indoor bars as well) to stop at for a drink or a quick bite to eat.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
