This ship terminal is huge! There will always be lines so expect that but it is a well oiled machine for the amount of people they process every cruise embarkation and disembarkation. I suggest going as early as you can and just wait on the ship because the lines just get longer later in the day.
We got there at 11a and there were employees directing which way to go since there were 3 cruise ships embarking that day. Last thing you want to do is navigate to the wrong ship. As long as you have everything you need such as ArriveCAN filled out, ship check in documents, passport, and COVID card, it's a breeze to get checked into your boat.
Security is just like any security line but I think they work much faster than others I have been in. Customs was easy too so we were on the boat in less than 45 min from the time we arrived.
If you're coming via Uber, Lyft, or taxi and can make the walk, set your location to be dropped off a block away on Cordova Street because the line to get dropped off in the parking garage is ridiculous. We waited at the light just to turn towards the terminal for 5 cycles and had our Uber driver drop us off at the hotel across the street.

Whenever we go to Vancouver, we take some time to visit Canada Place, even if we are not embarking on an ocean liner on that trip.
It is very easy to reach via the Skytrain, Vancouver's elevated and underground subway system.
When last we visited, there were four ocean liners tied up; typically there are two, so that was exciting. Walk a little to the west, and you'll see the amphibians taking off and landing, flying passengers elsewhere in British Columbia with single engine floatplanes.
Nearby is the Seabus, which will take you across the harbor to Lonsdale Quay Market, a shopping area featuring fresh seafood, and which also has a Cob's Bread location.
Added to that, you can watch the freighters in the harbor.
So even if you are not embarking on an ocean liner, Canada Place is a fun place to visit.

Canada Place is an iconic landmark on Waterfront Road in Vancouver. It is situated on the Burrard Inlet waterfront and is the home of the Vancouver Convention Centre, the Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel, Vancouver’s World Trade Centre and the virtual flight ride show FlyOver Canada. It is also the cruise ship passenger terminal where the Alaska cruises originate. The building itself looks like a ship with huge white sails and is a prominent sight from the harbour.
A walk along the Waterfront Road was quite fascinating as we got to see the many activities in the harbour, near Canada Place, with the ships and boats moving in and out and a number of seaplanes taking off and landing. We walked from the transit hub, Waterfront Station, which is about half a kilometre away, down to the Bon Voyage Plaza of Canada Place and further up to the edge of Stanley Park.
At the corner of the Canada Place Bon Voyage Plaza we got to see a fascinating blue coloured steel sculpture called ‘The Drop’. It is supposed to signify a homage to the power of nature and represents the relationship and outlook towards the water that surrounds us.

The views are great. As a place to promenade while waiting to board a cruise ship, it's nice enough. The former Olympic torch now looks out of place on a sunny day. However, this day it was also a place where a very noisy demonstration was taking place, and it made it feel threatening. I was anxious to leave the promenade.
In all, it's a gathering place - whether yours or someone else's.

This is a free place to visit and we visited while waiting for the FlyOver Canada to open. We had no idea that the port was that large.
The Port of Vancouver Discovery Centre is a great place to learn about the port, and engage in the stories and ideas that have shaped our port city.
Learn about: early port development, trade, innovation and shipbuilding; harbor operations today; working on the waterfront; environmental programs; facts and statistics
Features interactive touchscreens, featuring animated graphics and informative videos; historical artifacts and ship models; west-facing views of Vancouver harbor
access to the Canada Place promenade
It was a great experience.

When in Vancouver, spend a few hours strolling around Canada Place. Cruise Terminal, Conference Centre, Pan Pacific and Fairmont hotels, free courtesy buses to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Grouse Mountain, hop on and hop off busstop. terminus for Skytrain metro, Seaplane port, shops and bars galore, footpath and cycle way to Stanley Park buskers in the evening. A tourist delight.

Great place to go and look back at the city and along the waterfront. Unique design makes it a great place for pictures. Can be very busy in the summer with up to three large cruise ships in port, but worth the walk around. Even a good spot at the end to look over to the North Shore and relax for a bit! It is part of the Seawall walk as well and a good spot to start your jog.

Wow! What a nice cruise facility, plus other venues, but what a mess from a customer/passenger point of view. No one knew what was going on and where to go. Even the digital signage was incorrect. Ship names assigned to the wrong cruise line! Twice we waited in line only to be told to move elsewhere and, once go to a different floor! Twice, senior employees argued with each other as to where we were supposed to go. From arrival, it took 3.25 hours for us to board Norwegian Jewel! This was our 13th cruise and we have never had such a poor boarding experience.

Driving in from Port Orchard, Washington to catch a cruise on Royal Caribbean in Vancouver. What’s the best (and most inexpensive) place to park for the 11-night cruise?

I’m not sure of the cost but there was a car park at the cruise terminal. Either contact Royal Caribbean or google car parks at Vancouver cruise terminal. Or contact the Vancouver tourism board, I’m sure there must be one.

I am sorry but I cannot help you. I assume you have asked your travel agent and the Cruise Liner.

Merci !

Getting ashore at Canada place from Cruise ship, where can I find luggage storage after disembarkation at 9.00 AM for some hours, as our flight back to Europe is only at 6.00 PM?

Canada Place has't this service, but very close to it, half block away, at 250 Howe Street, you'll find BagsAway Luggage Storage. It´s cheap and handy.
Arriving from cruise at Canada place. How do I get to blue horizon hotel

I hope you get off your ship on Canada Place, not East Vancouver near Knight Street. It had happened to me. I was so surprised that I got off the ground.
Vancouver to Victoria, most people take Tsawwassen ferry terminal. If you are on foot, no reservation needed. you may take public transportation: Canada Line - Waterfront to Bridgeport station. Get off on Bridgeport Station and go down to Bus Stop Bay 12. Bus #620 will take you right to ferry terminal (last stop). You do not have to worry about the ferry time. This bus is running so ferry is still in service. If the connection is right, it is only take you around 90 minutes for the trip.
You can take another ferry terminal - Horseshoe Bay but you need more driving time to Victoria.
I do not know on Victoria side for rent a car because I have not been there for a few years. I know there has a bus to downtown Victoria . Downtown should have more car rent shops.
I hope not too late for you.

In the terminal there is a Starbucks and a small cafe I think called Cold or Coal Harbour Cafe...both are on G level ...outside the Terminal there are several good restaurants but more towards the convention centre...Cactus Club and a host of other ones.
Going on a cruise out of this port. Hoping to take a couple bottles of wine with us. Is there a store near by where we can purchase any to take aboard.

Looking to store luggage after disembarking from a cruise ship - I read on the website that CDS is the service available but we don't need anything fancy. Just large lockers - does anyone know if these exist here?
Kevin D
Maple Ridge, Canada1,537 contributions
No lockers available...storage available in the terminal 7-8$ a piece. It’s located in lobby once you come out of security area near where Taxi line is. If you are booking a room in the Pan Pacific they will store your luggage ...not staying there they can’t help you. No lockers anywhere else.
