Interesting to see

Didn't get a chance to go inside, but outside it was designed to look like the coliseum so it was an unusual combination of modern feel with ancient style.

When I read Harry Potter, I always envisioned ending up in a library if I would get a chance to enter the room of requirement. I felt my dream came true when I visited this one. Millions of books, hushed silence, at par with technology, a quiet coffee perhaps? They have got you covered. If you are into books, this... More

OK, I admit it, the architecture of this building is reminiscent of a Roman Colosseum or an amphitheater. It's a love it or hate it building in our city. The Central library is just that...a library. Full of books, magazines, computers, photocopiers, internet and the usual things found in the library. Personally, I do not think of this as an... More

The Central Library is an interesting building styled after a Roman Amphitheatre. It is close to other attractions so well worth a short walk. Once you've seen the exterior, that's about it. The interior is less interesting, unless you want a cup of coffee or a cheap slice of pizza. The library itself is well stocked and provides free internet... More

A city prepared to budget for beauty as well as function has its priorities right! The concept of the building, echoing the Parthenon of Ancient Greece, the foundation of Western culture, is beautiful outside and in, and the holdings of books, and every other kind of modern medium of information and knowledge is outstanding. Add to that extraordinarily well-informed staff,... More

I am sorry that I have to say that I got disappointed from this place. It is a Great Building with nice staff but lots of homeless people. I did not feel safe and can not keep my eye off my belongings.

I am a student here in Vancouver, so I spent quite a bit of time at this library! I know a lot of people come for the architecture, and I must admit that the colosseum-esque shape is impressive every time I visit. But don't just stop on the outside! Its really lovely inside, as well, especially is you like books.... More

This architectural wonder houses the largest Vancouver Public Library in the city. Outside the library (but inside the building) are small shops and stores in a short mall / alley. This location is very close to BC Place and Roger's Arena.

This is an awesome library, seven floors of knowledge and information. Check out the Special Collections floor for local history about the black community in Vancouver.
