We recently drove from Vancouver to Calgary and Vancouver to Whistler and used the Gypsy app on my smart phone. This was an invaluable part of our trip. GyPSy told us all the history, how the landscape was formed and the best part, GyPSy also told us what were the must do stops, how long the stops would take and... More

We have just returned from two weeks driving from Vancouver through the rockies and back through Kelowna. The apps were great. We saw more than we would without them and only used our conventional GPS when it was not available. Heading now to Maui and I have already downloaded the next apps

A good way to get your own personal guided tour that points out highlights that should be visited together with background information on the area and history.

Hello, We have recently returned from a driving tour around the Rocky Mountains - Vancouver to Whistler, through Prince George to Jasper, then Lake Louise, Calgary, Banff, Kamloops and back to Vancouver! We downloaded Apps on to my iPhone, and WOW! It was so worth the little money for 6 Apps! Once downloaded (which I did from Australia before we... More

My wife and I hired the GyPSy Guide in Vancouver for our tour from Vancouver, Kelowna, Banff, Jasper, Sun Peaks, Whistler & back to Vancouver. We found the guide invaluable, did not miss a highlight and would never have known where to stop at sightseeing points of interest without it. It is not a conventional GPS. The research that must... I would first like to say that this is a great idea and still worth using as it allows you to tour at your pace. Now onto the bad stuff (BOOOOO) The guide itself does not indicate you are off course so you have to pay attention to either the directions or the map on the tiny screen yourself (this... More

Last year I rented Gypsy guide in Banff area and loved it, so I decided to try it again in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island. Price was $40/day for the rental and we rented it for 3 days. The concept is a talking GPS that tells you what you are seeing as you pass by locations, or for a city... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
