Too many visits

Don't go here ... your husband is liable to purchase multiple paintings each time that you do.
Points for crowd control and social distancing. Sanitizer available and great customer service.

Gorgeous

I love the art of Roy Henry Vickers. The gallery is the perfect place to look and enjoy without pressure, or people bothering you. It had been a 25 year gap between visits and I was just as moved this time as last time. Love his art, love how the gallery is so calm and low key. Perfect place to buy everything from childrens books to originals.

So pleased we stopped in, it's a large open gallery with beautiful art easily displayed. Very cool and welcoming inside. A nice spot to get out of the rain or sun.

Unique venue
Jul 2020
The art of Mr. Vickers is world class so it's fitting that it be displayed in such a wonderfully suitable building based on traditional long house design. There is no admission price, but you'll find it hard not to buy one of the many works of art; from cards, to signed prints, to originals. Take your time to find peace and gain knowledge from your visit. Parking is on street, free and nearby.

My wife and I were truly impressed when we went in and looked at the art. It was impressive and the building was also impressive inside. We could have walked away with a lot and I know when we come back next year it will be a stop.

We truly enjoyed this gallery

Not only do you get to see wonderful original art, you get to enjoy it in an atmosphere of calmness. Be sure to read the artist's descriptions underneath his works as they give excellent information about the creation of the respective pieces. This gallery is very inviting and comfortable so don't be surprised if you find yourself sitting around and enjoying the peacefulness of it. There is a shop located at the back if you are interested in making a purchase.

Beautiful artwork by a master
Nov 2019
Looking through this beautiful gallery designed and built of cedar as a new interpretation of a First Nations longhouse is a joy. The art work is fabulous and the artist's interpretation of the land and the animals ranges from traditional to impressionistic. There are originals that cost a lot to prints and postcards for those of limited means. I suspect that it would be hard to leave without something as a reminder of one's visit to this beautiful area of British Columbia. The artist uses many vibrant colours and for me there is always something that deeply touches me. And so I cheerfully opened my wallet - and probably will do that again.

A cultural experience for the mind
Oct 2019
When you enter the gallery, its not what you might expect.....there are no fences, no gates, no guards. the building is built along the lines of a coastal native longhouse with a fire pit in the middle. Around the pit is the display of vickers art. Stunning is more or less the only way you can describe the paintings and the deep feelings behind them. Some are recreations of what we coastal people see when the sun goes down or comes up, the reflections, the shades of colours one might think impossible and then a Vickers painting with its definite colour patterns and the intertwining of the story that inspired the painting......quiet, contemplative, peaceful. surely a place that you could visit time and again and never get over it.
