I have walked the Wild Side at least 50 times. It is my serenity. Walk a beach and then walk through the rain forest to come to another beach. Keep doing this. Each beach is different and each hike through the forest is different. Be aware that there are cougars and wolves as you are walking in their home. The... More

This walk should not be missed if you are on Vancouver Island. Gorgeous forest and ocean views. Relatively easy trail to the lighthouse. We did not go on the longer trail but would love to if we are ever back in this area. I cannot say enough about the natural beauty of this area. We were there in late August... More

We've been wanting to visit the raw Pacific coast for a long time and picked this trail for an up-close experience. This is really remote and isn't somewhere you'll visit on the spur of the moment, but if you want to see the "real" coast this is it. It isn't easy to get to - we first traveled to Tofino... More

I camped on two parts of this trail this summer--at Cow Bay on the north end and Whitesand Cove on the south end. I was kayaking from Tofino to Hot Springs Cove, taking the outer route going out and the inner route coming back. This is one of my favourite trips because of the challenges of the water as well... my family spent a day with a great hike, accompanied by the local man John, who lives there in Ahousat on Flores Island. It was a great experience to learn from Jihn about the rich history as also about the specifics in fauna and flora. Can only recommend

We enjoyed this wonderful walk long more than 10 km (one way). Wild forests combined with fantastic beaches and majestic landscapes. Remember water, food and camera. Don't take the shortcuts if you are not trained.

We were dropped off on Flores Island by a very accomodating zodiac driver and his crew at Siwash, close to Cow Bay. We spent 3 days on the beaches there and on the last day hiked the wild side trail back to Ahousat. A very special part of the world. If you want to go hiking in west coast wilderness,... More

The Wild Side Trail contains most of the nicest beaches I have ever seen on Vancouver Island, and the best part is you rarely see another soul while hiking them. Very easy trail to hike. If you plan it right, with low tides on your side, you can skip some of the trail and get to Cow Bay quite a... More

Stopped by here on our way to Tofino and loved the walk along the coast. Snapped up many beautiful pictures. The trail is not difficult but there are some incline/decline in spaces but I would say it would be suitable for most.
